Santana is having a solid year after surgery robbed him of his entire 2011 season with 84 strike outs in 84 innings.
The Cubs certainly are not going to contend for the top spot in the National League Central and it will take a very strong year going forward just to escape the division basement as they are fighting to shed the label as the worse team in the game.
The Cubs hand the ball to Travis Wood to open the series as he hopes to build on his first victory of the year. Wood defeated the White Sox 2-1 with one run given up on four hits and four walks over six frames.
Santana is the class of the match up on the mound but Wood is capable. The question is whether the streaky Mets can get back in the win column and the way the Cubs struggle against left handers I'll back the visitors...

Eovaldi's taken losses at the 27-43 Colorado Rockies and Oakland 3-2 and 4-1 yielding six runs, five earned, during 11.2 innings. The 31-42 Seattle Mariners also won on June 8 1-0 as Eovaldi didn't shield a run during six innings.

In San Francisco Zito is 3-2 with wins over the 37-35 Arizona Diamondbacks, 24-48 Chicago Cubs and A's wielding six runs during 20.2 innings.
The Dodgers are 60-for-247 with 20 RBIs, seven from Matt Kemp, on Zito. Los Angeles won 9-1 in May at Dodger Stadium driving in three runs during six innings on the Giants ace. I'll go with LA doing it again.
