He's just going to move on to having his 'covers brothers' pay for picks. Happens every time someone has a good year in the forum and gets a following. They go tout, and then generally the pendulum swings and the paid picks turn out to be mediocre and the followers get buried. Which they deserve, because paying for picks is pathetic. The reason people go tout is because they know it's a far easier way to make money, let the gambling addicted suckers who are hopeless at making their own picks take on all the risk. Why bother setting up a tout service if you are already crushing the bookie? Why would you need to?

If you sign up to a tout you still need a healthy bankroll and proper money management abilities. And if you have that, you can most likely get buy without a tout. I mean even if you know nothing you have a 50/50 shot on any game you play.

Props to LC for having a good year and all, but let's not act like there weren't some real howlers and bad runs quite recently. There was a stretch where he couldn't buy a winner for ages in the reg season NBA. Back to back 5x losers in the NBA playoffs, the 2nd one the team was down 20+ points the whole game.

Not pointing this out to trash the guy, this can happen (and will happen) to anyone. And if you think it can't happen in the NFL too then think again. And then ask yourself, do you have the bankroll and money management to take those type of hits ON TOP of paying for the service?

Most don't. So when your tout is winning, you start betting more than you should. Same when they lose. I mean, after all, you have to bet more because you have this extra expense of the tout, right?

What ends up happening then is when the guy you are tailing goes on the inevitable losing run you will feel tortured and angry. At him and at yourself. You'll have picks that your capper makes where you actually liked the other side and when the side you liked wins but you lose you will be annoyed, and if it keeps happening you just start playing your own picks. Then, even if your capper ends up having an overall good year, you'll probably still be down and yet you will have no recourse or reason to complain at him. Or even worse, if the bad run continues and his picks are losing AND your picks are losing, well, you'll be buried my friend.

Trust me, touts do nothing but get you buried. They want to play with your money instead of theirs. They have the same aims as a bookie - take money from gamblers who can't pick winners. You can't tell me that their business model is anything else. You can say 'Oh, well if he can't pick winners, the customers will leave and the business will fail.' Same can be said for the bookie! If you lost every bet ever you would quit betting.

Look at Marc Lawrence, one of the most famous touts in the US. His win percentage at the end of any season is usually pretty close to what you could get flipping a coin. So how is he in business? Is it because he is getting rich off his spectacular capping abilities and cashing at the window so much, or because he is getting suckers to pay his bills for him? And the guys you see posting crazy percentages, they're either fake and unmonitored or just a recent run, or they are fudging numbers somehow.

Have you ever met anyone who got rich from following a tout? I haven't. It's a similar situation to guys who get big in poker, they win some titles and then get bankrolled by other people so they can use their skills without the stress of risking big amounts of their own money and going broke. But they get bankrolled by dudes so rich that it doesn' t matter if they lose.

You're most likely not rich like that. Don't bankroll a guy just cuz he had a good year unless you can really afford to, and unless you are basically going to be happy to not even try to cap games yourself.

Anyway, hopefully LC is not going to go tout at all. It just seems a foregone conclusion because you can't promote on covers forums or you get banned so that's likely the reason for the cryptic message. But I would be surprised because he seems like such a genuinely good guy, never responds with hate to anyone.

I would like to think that a guy like that would not want the bad karma that attaches itself to someone who preys on gambling addicts the way touts and bookies do. It's bad for the soul. There are guys out there who will send out newsletters etc. with picks and analysis for small weekly fees (ie: the price of a magazine and a coffee) and there's nothing wrong with that but guys charging 50 for a single pick or hundreds for a few weeks can go to hell IMO.

Maybe he’s thinking about himself and his family and wagering his own bets, rather than educating the public tailing his picks. Maybe he gets a better number and by the time he posts his plays his followers are there might be some value lost when oddsmakers adjust their lines making it harder for him to have an edge.

What I’m really trying to say is that I hope you share some of your insight during football season and let’s make some money baby

    Stump is correct:

I say this without equivocation, if you are paying people for picks, you shouldn't be betting.

If people need to make a living by going tout, I won't stop them.

But it won't be my cash flow that is supporting them.

Everyone is free to do as they please though. But with the web there is FAR more than enough info aggregated by the best minds available for FREE, so to pay for a pick, especially in 2019, is pure lunacy.

1989? Maybe it makes sense. 2019? You should be committed.

the groupthink in this thread is unreal. When did he ever hint at going tout? Maybe he has other obligations in life and this site is taking up to much time

The lack of foresight or ability to read into nuance is laughable.

If someone had 'other obligations' they'd simply say they had....'other obligations'. There would be no reason to withhold such benign information. The same with leaving because of trolls. What's the big reveal to wait a week and come back and say "I just can't take the trolls anymore!"

It's embarrassing to make such an 'Other obligations' suggestion given people have had multiple children on this site, the obligation with the biggest time management reshuffling in ones life by far, and were back posting...the next DAY.

Did any of you people think maybe LC is just done with gambling?  Maybe the hundreds of thousands he won the last calendar year he put into some other venture that will take up all his time not gambling related?  Maybe he will take a vacation and travel for 1 year, who the F knows.

Just wait and see what he will say and stop assuming he will go tout.

    No one ASSUMED it.

It is currently simply being speculated on. That's a massive difference.

No one needs this pathetic chain gang of defenders to ward off those simply 'suggesting' this might be about going tout.

No one is bashing a pick. We are literally just waiting for the time frame HE set (i.e., this is HIS doing to make this a big reveal) and talking about it. Go wash your hair or clip your nails, something more productive than to be a hanger-on for a guy you have never even met in real life!

Yup  wasmt sure... thatrs why I documented it. My W streaks are insane. I will continue at 80% to finish the season.

PS- some of my plays on my hot streak WERE POSTED I was just locked up in the box and you can find them there. I either won all of them or had one loss. I believe I had the L and that was why I stopped posting them. I had not had an L for a month before that. This board is just bad luck. To say touts go under aftter leaving here is nonsense. What happens is too much money gets bet on their picks and they lose. So an elite capper will not want more than 25 or so clients. I know how it works. I have clients and I have been successful every season. But if you've ever wondered why touts go under its nothing to do with karma , its probably because they got lazy they getting automatic payments now so they stop capping good OR What I said before...too much money going down on the picks. Its one of those two things.

I’m relatively new to this site. It seems LC is being treated like a Deity or the 2nd coming by some and a trader giving into the almighty dollar by others.

My question is who exactly is LC? How long has he been posting here? Is he a man of great character or does he have the ego the size of Texas like some say. This is a very fascinating debate reading through the posts. There have been so many twists and turns going post by post. It’s actually gotten very strange at times also.

I must say this is an entertaining read. Is this guy really that good?

Answers:  (I hacked into Scal's private emails with LC to get these...)

    1.  Not like.  He is.  Last seen walking on top of a water hazzard at Coto de Caza Golf Club in the O.C.

    2.  He is the FIRST coming.  Get it straight so you can get your prayers correct at night.

    3.  He is a likely not a man.... but a visitor from Xenon XR4-S13.  Robert Mueller's investigation (you don't think he was actually working on politics for 2 years, do you?) suspects he is the love child of Scal and James Holzhauer.  Determination of which one is the Daddy is pending results of the 2020 election.

    4.  More like Alaska, with the northern half of the Korean Peninsula tossed in.  (Read between the lines for the source of his prodigious prognosticating pronouncements.)

    5.  Good?  That is a four letter word in LC World.  In fact, there are NO words in LC World.  Forever.  As LC has told all of us with his telepathic powers.  Aren't you getting the messages too?

    Stump - LOL!

Ken - He’s a system capper. A system is what I call “black box capping” (ie, lots of datamining and programs and excel spreadsheets which spits out a pick). You aren’t actually making a pick, you trust the “system.”

Granted there are some picks where he will put in his two cents and those I’ll give a read but otherwise it is trend-based and system based.

I cap on the opposite end of the spectrum with copious write-ups, involved conversations and debates in the thread, serving as a headmaster of the thread’s content, and psychological aspects of the player’s mindsets intertwined in all this.

No one else caps like this except BeginnerBoy, one of the only capper’s I read.

It won’t always win, but dag nabbit, more often then not, it’s put a stack of flapjacks on my plate up to my nose over the years. And it’s brought home the bacon on each side. As high as stacks of poker chips on the felt.

    70% in 2015.

All picks written up so meticulously that Biblical scribes would quiver at the amount of content.

I’ve yet to see someone seriously approach that percentage over a full year of capping.

But I digress. Sorry for tooting my own horn here.

I’ll never sell a pick and LC still has to come back and tell us what the hell is going on here...

digital karma used to be another solid one. seems like he has moved on because i have not seen him since last football season. i used to really enjoy his write ups because he would look at every single possible angle, unbiased, before posting his pick
No team is as good as it looks when winning nor are they as bad as they look when losing

I mean, after all, you have to bet more because you have this extra expense of the tout, right?
this is exactly true. But didn't LC have multiple good years in a row?? Most touts couldn't wait or wouldn't wait years. Unless maybe he is in some kind of financial trouble or something. People get this misconception that just because someone can hit 60% or better over a season that they would be rich for certain. They forget everyone has personal problems and demons too

I’d disagree with the statement that LC is simply a systems capper. He takes into account psychological angles as well.

If someone is willing to put in the large amount of hours it takes to handicap properly, is consistently profitable and I can fully trust in their decision making, I would be glad to pay for their services.

The amount of time and headache it would save me would be invaluable.

Your saying he’s calling us the “ village idiots” and we don’t see it. I tend to agree that he see us in his eyes as morons.

The question I have for you sir. Do you think League Capper is enjoying all this attention. It also seems like he is getting free advertising for tout service. At least in the Covers world LC’s big reveal after the finals is similar to LEBRON JAMES DECISION when he held everyone hostage before he went to Miami. Its really brilliant advertising by LC if you think about it!

Well lol I mean it says it right in his user name! Stoidi backwards spells idiots. So you know when he made that name he was thinking of others as idiots.

As for your question, yes if I had to guess I would say LC is enjoying reading this. But then if he really enjoyed it that much he would just stay on here. So it's hard to know for sure. He could stay on here and still go tout
