"Why would the US do anything about Ukraine? I'm still waiting for anyone to answer that."
"This is like if China chooses to invade North Korea - who gives a crap? Ukraine is an entirely corrupt nation who seemingly learned literally ZERO when Putin took Crimea in 2014. Let them go, they offer nothing to the world."
"Bingo. Ukraine is important to democrats... They need a distraction. I'm just glad john mccain (lower case intended) isn't around. That pr*ck never met a military intervention he didn't absolutely love.
Still not missing you john!"

"Those countries are grabbing Putin's boot and placing it on their necks so they can take selfies.
Nobody is forcing them to buy from Russia, yet every time the contract comes up they want even more. Those countries can all buy fuel on the world market, but they CHOOSE to buy from Russia so that they can blame Russia when they go out and do the things they want to do, but look bad doing them.
They also don't build their own energy systems, like nuclear, so they can kiss Putin's backside as much as possible.
During the last European summit Trump attended the Putin toadies, especially Germany, started bleating about Russia. Trump told them straight up that they, especially Germany, were financing what Russia was doing so the US should have nothing to do with it.
When Russia threatened, why did the countries have people die rather than buy fuel elsewhere? See, those countries got to do what they wanted to do, and people died as a result, and Russia gets the blame."
"Absolutely, lock Putin out of that banking system so he has an excuse to not pay some of those European nations back the billions he owes them. Another great call by the Demented Fraud"

"Better question:
You accused President Trump of being a Russian asset for years. You claimed to have gone “toe to toe” with Putin, so why do you suppose Putin waited for you to be in office before invading another country?
Putin skipped stepping on Biden's toes and clocked him between the legs. By the time he recovers, no one will remember that Ukraine used to be a sovereign nation."

The retards care because they’re told to care. They know nothing besides propaganda. Our media is no better than China’s. The difference is that the Chinese people know they’re being fed propaganda.

All of a sudden Ukraine is a great country full of great leaders and great civilians and we should risk our lives and economy defending them.
The truth is the globalists from US and Europe covertly own Ukraine, have a puppet government there, and want to make Ukraine an overtly NATO controlled country with NATO military infrastructure and shockingly Putin doesn’t like that idea.
Fracking is a threat to Putin. Democrats hate fracking, and spread the same propaganda Putin does. They both take the “green” approach and back “green” causes to win their fight.
A strong NATO is a threat. Democrats continuously let NATO countries not pay the amount agreed to. US taxpayers pick up all of the slack.
The psy ops are being run to make the average American think that Ukraine is good and Russia is bad … this type of psy op is needed to gain support for war. They basically have it and it barely took 2 weeks. That’s how good they (CIA, deep state, USA, globalists allies, media) are.

A puppet government for our politicians to use as their personal bank.
They send our tax dollars in the name of aid and then position their children in companies they have no business in other than to funnel millions back to themselves.
The media is wholly complicit in covering all up and in the making of zombie dummies who are really nothing more than pawns to them(Fubah and darkhorse types)

Not really a Trumpster, he was not my choice initially. I just cannot argue with the good that he did while in office and the rectifying of some of the policies that were in place before him. I always say that people that do not want to see any good that he did while in office do it out of dislike for the man. More of a non-Biden or any other Leftist kind of guy. Trump, like all guys in office, had flaws and made mistakes.
But when you ask a question like that, it is a very open-ended blanket question. I do not know if you are being sincere, or if you want detailed points, or if you are simply asking if he would have done better than Biden.
The very short answer is: yes, he would have done better. But, he also had better advisors that are more inclined to see things from a military and global perspective. So, I am not even fully convinced that he would have completely withdrawn when it came right down to it. From the military and strategic side, there was a lot of push to keep a force there for anti-terrorism, etc.
It is easy for him to look back and say he would not have left anyone, or any military equipment behind. Don't forget Trump was the one that signed the peace treaty with the Taliban. Like one guy compared it to the Paris Peace Accords -- and I am not so sure I can disagree with him. So, in a sense you could say Trump booby-trapped Biden. Biden should have maybe, maybe, maybe -- set his own timetable, etc.
So, you can actually lay the blame at Trump's feet for setting the disaster in motion, in a sense.
However, the 'Trumpsters" can argue that he may have been better, strategically, with the withdrawal. But, you really cannot say that for sure.
Certainly, ISIS was suppressed -- and Trump can take credit for that. So, maybe he could have been convinced that they would rise again, etc.
For sure, you can say he would have sent forces in to bring out more of the equipment and secure the airport to get the folks out better.
But I think everyone will agree there was never going to be an easy exit.
I think for sure the folks there would have respected the potential for retaliation, etc. more from a Trump than a Biden. So, for sure they might have waited longer to take back Kabul and, for sure, the airport. It is somewhat obvious that they felt like they could 'get away' with more once Biden was the one leaving and not Trump. But, once you say, more or less, we are leaving on such and such a day -- he gave them a heads up. Not so sure, Trump's advisors could have done much better with those parameters.
Don't forget that other forces were there also. They could have convinced Trump/Biden either way on the withdrawal. But everyone wasstanding by waiting to see if USA was the one that wanted to leave, etc.
Did Biden have to stick with the date that Trump had put in place? He could have gotten better advice and done things differently, sure.
But, to me it is too political, once it is over and was a complete disaster, to say you could have done better. What could you have done better? There is no way to isolate, with no knowledge of the way it was done -- then try Trump's way in a parallel universe and compare the two. Then you would have simply had Biden say he would have done better. Maybe, maybe not.

Would Trump have done better at getting military equipment out? I think so, the Right cares more about military-type things. They also would have considered whether or not terrorists would have taken possession of them. The Left really do not think this way as much, or care about military stuff this way.
Would Trump have guarded the airport better and gotten more people out? I think so, because he more or less wanted out just to look good and fulfill the campaign promise, etc. The Left on the other hand is just concerned about getting out. For example, if a dog is chasing a little kid and the little kid turns around -- the dog may or may not stop. But if the dog is chasing an adult with a stick and the adult turns around, the dog is apt to run away. I think the Taliban would have given Trump more time to get the folks and equipment out.
But I do not think he would have done much better. It is easy to sit back and say, afterwards, you have have bombed everything in sight on the way out, or if they didn't let you leave on your own terms and timetable.
If you are not able to sincerely tell the folks there that you are leaving and will turn right around if necessary AND have them believe it -- then you cannot do any better than Biden. I do feel Trump could have done this -- NO way Biden could have done it. Once they saw Biden leaving, they knew it was over and they had the country and could say they had 'won and ran the US out'.
Not sure if this even touches on exactly what you were asking.

An interesting contrast of the mindset about this from the two guys. Whether you agree or not, it is interesting to note the difference:
Former US President Donald Trump condemned the US' pullout plan from Afghanistan under President Joe Biden, stating if he was the President, the world would have seen a much more 'different and successful' exit from the region. Issuing a statement, Trump noted the withdrawal of the US troops from the country should have been 'conditions-based' and stated that what was transpiring in Afghanistan today was 'not acceptable’.
Trump said, “If I were now President, the world would find that our withdrawal from Afghanistan would be a conditions-based. I personally had discussions with top Taliban leaders whereby they understood what they are doing now would not have been acceptable.”
In response to the growing criticism, Biden defended his pullout plan that said that Afghanistan needs to 'fight for themselves and fight for their nation’. He has also said, “I do not regret my decision.”

Maybe Trump did "...have discussions...and they understood conditions..." -- but for Biden to say "...they need to fight for themselves...and I do not regret my decision..."
It may be somewhat true what Trump said, but for Biden to sound so cavalier and as if nothing could have been done differently -- just shows the different mindset. For sure, the Taliban would see this.

But back to Ukraine. Couple quotes:
"It appears one of the primary sources of instability in the post Cold War world is the US foreign policy and intelligence community refusal to admit that other nations have actual vital interests.
NATO on Russia’s borders does not enhance the security of America or Western Europe.
NATO on Russia’s border is an unacceptable strategic threat to Russia.
We don’t need it; they cannot allow it. Why did we push it?"
"It is not so much that Putin is like Hitler as it is Biden is so much like Chamberlain. Putin has been planning his invasion of Ukraine since 2012. That is when his astrophysicists told him the sun was losing some of its power to heat the earth, and by 2019 the earth would be cooling, with a strong possibility of another mini-ice age coming. Putin knows that any significant drop in global temperatures will wipe out almost 40% of Russia's crop growing ability. From 2016-2019 average global temperatures dropped an amazing 0.5 degree. The last time that happened was in 1640, in the early stages of the last mini-ice age. For the same reasons Katherine the Great conquered Ukraine in 1783, Putin is doing it now. Ukraine is south of Russia, so its growing season is longer, and the drop of 2016-2019 drove the point home to Putin that his astrophysicists were right, and he needed Ukraine to feed his people. He did not dare take Ukraine with President Trump in office. He waited a year to see what kind of president Joe Biden would be. When he could see Joe was a weak ineffectual man, Putin knew his time had come and here we are."

One more:
"The Russians have always been a little paranoid, couple that with a constant advance by NATO by admitting countries into it when in point of fact it was useless as Pat pointed out , it became not a deterrent thanks to the USA, but a threat. I believe were Trump in the WH, this never would have happened, we wouldn't be buying oil from Russia or anyone else. No admitting Ukraine, Russia gets their pipeline, we get ours and everyone prospers, but this demented clown is owned by the green crowd who are milking their climate scam BS for all it's worth and this is the result. "Why would the US do anything about Ukraine? I'm still waiting for anyone to answer that."
After the fall of the Soviet Union, we convinced Ukraine to disarm and promised them that if anything went down, we would always defend them.
I'm personally against our involvement in any of this but you asked a question, I gave an answer.

One guy's explanation of this:
Russian President Vladimir Putin warned of “consequences never seen in history” if the United States and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) retaliated against Russia for their invasion of Ukraine. Does the U.S. have an obligation to defend Ukraine and counter Russia?
Dr. Bernd Kaussler, a political science professor at James Madison University said the U.S. technically does not have to do anything by law since Ukraine is not in NATO.
“It’s not a treaty obligation. A treaty obligation... Article 5 under NATO means by law the U.S. has to come to the aid of NATO countries. Last time NATO did that was after 9/11,” said Kaussler.
There are treaties and there are agreements and the two differ from each other.
The U.S. did make a deal in 1994 with Ukraine, known as the Budapest Agreement. Ukraine actually had the third-largest nuclear weapons stockpile. This was because the newly-founded Ukraine ended up with the Soviet Union’s nuclear weapons in their territory after the Soviet Union collapsed.
This agreement meant that Ukraine would destroy the weapons and the U.S., United Kingdom (U.K.), and Russia would guarantee Ukraine staying secure. This, however, is not a treaty.
“The Iran nuclear deal was an agreement, just like the Budapest Agreement in 1994. So, the next president can just no longer honor it. That’s exactly what Trump did with the Iran nuclear deal. If it’s a treaty, it’s law and you cannot revoke it,” said Kaussler.
If Russia were to invade a NATO country like Poland, the U.S. would have to respond under law.
Dr. Kaussler said Putin’s threat was to project a “mad man image,” which he believes is the ultimate deterrence to discourage the U.S. from taking action against Russia.

But there is a sentiment of USA still being the world's police and protector. There is the idea of not ceding more territory to Russia. Consideration of how others see our actions on this, like China. Lot of other reasons pro and con.
