I am siding with Georgia Southern with the points, possibly the ML. I am going to see what the line drops or increases to later on in the week.
Yes I know Appalachian State has a stout run defense, but we are talking about the #1 ranked rushing offense. "But they can't throw the ball..." Well it's because they haven't had to. We are not talking about your pro-style run offense, this is a pistol, spread, option/zone read offense that is VERY hard to prepare for on a short week, and VERY hard to stop. They have receivers who can catch the ball if they need to throw it, but the last 5 weeks they haven't had to, and they won't again against App. State. Ga Southern is SO explosive and I know they are capable of getting more stops than App. State on the defensive side of the ball. I am basing my pick off the fact that Georgia Southerns offense will out duel App. State. They are 4-2 against the spread, and should have covered last week but didn't cover the 33 point spread by 3 points on a garbage touchdown. I will continue to update this write up as the week goes on, but I am telling you Ga Southern with the points or possibly ML is the play. They can win this game straight up and should. Potential big bowl bid team and will be Sun Belt Champs. The over 63 on this game is damn near a lock as well. I imagine stops will not come easy on thursday night.

I'm leaning this way but gonna do more digging, App St has a nice team this year
tough to guarantee anything, don't do that unless you want drama in your thread, some of the posters here will go bananas if they tail you and lose
best of luck
Haha very true... No guarantees in betting. Thanks for the heads up WahooS. Feel free to post later on the week and tell me what you're thinking on this one.

Any thoughts on this game tonight? I don't have too much insight. I know Arkansas State needed 29 unanswered points on some ridiculous plays last week to pull away and also let up quite a few points to Idaho. I imagine this one going over... being that the Sun Belt doesn't tend to play too much defense.

Hi. Full disclosure: Im an App State alum. Take that for what it worth, but Im someone who actually pays attention to the Sun Belt regardless of if I have money on the game or not
That said, I disagree wholeheartedly with your analysis of this game. The thing you have to remember is GSU and App are arch rivals with a long history. The triple option offense that GSU runs is nothing exotic or new to App. We've been facing it for years. In fact, in the Southern Conference before we moved to FBS, we'd face it several times a year (Wofford, Citadel, GASU, etc... all ran the triple option). Point being, our coaches know how to scheme against it and this year, I feel like we have the discipline and experience on D to be very effective against it.
On offense, App is simply more dynamic. We can run and pass and have a ton of experience on that side of the ball. We will put up points. App is also at home at the Rock, which is probably the best home field advantage in the sun belt.
This is a bitter rivalry. We hate each other. I'm probably not going to take it, but all bias aside, I lean App. I just think it's far from a lock and knowing the history between these teams, I'm not 100% on the over either. Just my two cents...

If appy can throw they will tough to beat. Both are very slow paced squads and that will burn clock and the under might be viable. That said a TD is trmpting
