Great Grandfather worked for the international paper company in Niagara Falls . In 1933 the Paper Company's plant in Piercefield was closed , they sold the lease rights of their logging properties in the area to employees...My Great Grandmother was furious as the money was deducted weekly out of his check.( 6 children at the time)...She quickly fell in love with the Adirondacks ( Especially the towns of Tupper Lake and Saranac Lake) as she never experienced any racism and the people were some of the kindest most welcoming she ever met ...They eventually retired to Tupper Lake and Florida in the winter .

Was a great time...Although nothing went right the first night.....Propane for lights and fridge failed , Kerosene heater almost started on fire , wood wouldn't light in stove, camp road was washed out half way ( had to walk everything to camp close to a mile )
