You bring up some good points. Covers is not trash. The issue is that a person makes a post and more often then not another poster brings total negativity to the post. I have always felt that if you do not agree with a posters thought a constructive comment is fine. I personally have found that a lot of the posts I make are responded to with Sarcasms and out right disrespect. It goes on in every forum.
It seems to me that a lot of people just have no manners and are disrespectful. I have seen this all to often in my lifetime. I am an older person and a combat veteran. Unfortunately most of the negative posters have- start Bullitt points.
1. Never served in the military.
2. Have no respect for the military.
3. Are cowards behind keyboards and have no courage.
4. They think yesterday does not matter and it is all about them.
5. Are very selfish and only care about themselves. Do not even care about friends. Anything to boost ego and get ahead= back stabbers.
6. I could go on and on. I think I have made my point.

@daytonavol Good Point- I guess I am just nostalgic for a place with some great minds exchanging ideas, this post is a plea for change. Solutions- Offer Mr.Bator and his ilk some dough for their opinions. Give them their own forums, free from trolling. Reach out to the contest winners and allow them some content to provide some good insight and write-ups. The free picks are nice from the "experts" but some of these guys are auto-fade trash. If we are going to give free pick advice, then let's give lifetime ATS stats on these picks. Also, while we are at it- each expert should have lifetime ATS stats. Most of these guys are not making any money long term and we get such garbage as 14 of their last 21 are winners.......so what? So and so is 20-8 off his last 28-- 3 star picks for teams that start with an "A" and play in stadiums named after financial institutions..really? They once had a great handicapping contest between Teddy and one other pro- it was mesmerizing and they were doling out winner after winner, this kind of content would be amazing and would in the long-run drum up business for the cappers. Have a battle of the cappers- one pick a week survivor like contest and post it each week. There are a million ways to make this better and I guess that is the issue, this management team keeps rolling out the same ugly drivel.... Crash
I can get onboard with these ideas. Here's a few of mine:
I hate clicking on a thread, only to find out it includes a pick and nothing else - no reasoning, no explanation, no data, nothing, just a 10 character post listing a pick. Either create a different section for these posts, or at a minimum, let us know next to the thread title how many words it contains.
Divide each forum into sub forums - so for the NFL forum, we could have an NFL news and injury forum, NFL picks forum, NFL betting systems forum, NFL live bet forum, NFL is rigged forum, etc...
If you want to post a pick, you should have to make the actual pick first, in a contest or something similar. Then, Covers should keep track of the record, similar to streak survivor, and then list that poster's record next to their screen name on every post they make. Then you can look at their post and know immediately if they are worth paying attention to.
God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy.

I’m a little past my prime, but I will head down to the local recruiting office in the morning to see if I can fix my veteran status to be a better poster

I’ve seen US military personnel first hand in many countries where they show outmost disrespect to everyone around them so do not use military equals automatic standup person as an excuse. You must have served so good for you but you’re way off base here. Why do you think there is special military police in other countries to strictly police US military personnel? Food for thought…

Being a veteran makes no difference in anybody's posting. My point is it is all about respect. If a person served that is great. If not I respect there decision.
My point is that more posts in the last 6 months idiots post totally negative comments which benefit no one.
1. People need to show some respect to all posts.
2. To disagree is fine. To be a disrespectful is a sign of total ignorance.
3. To mock a veteran is beyond disrespectful.
4. I think you know my position.

First of all you are correct. Being in the military does not make a person standup or honest. I have been in over 40 countries. Have I seen it all? Of course not.
Although my point being is what I see now are an awful lot of younger people that have no courage to serve and no respect for those who have served.

Broncos were literally playing our second string at nearly every position.... coming off that big win, looked like disaster brewing and for once it was.
Does anyone know what the Chiefs are ATS since losing the Super Bowl in 2019?

First of all, they should put a character limit on the length of the posts. Some of you guys in this thread are long winded.
Second, these ARE the good old days. The human perception, being flawed as it is, has us believe that nothing in life is ever as good as it once was. That is a false narrative.
This site has always had trolls and always will

eh,nice try but that can objectively be proven false simply by bringing up archived threads and comparing the number of useful "positive" informative comments contained within to the average thread nowadays...i guarantee you that you will count faaar more of what can only be described as "shi.t-posts" nowadays.
it is a little subjective of course...but simply mocking/insulting a dude or telling him he is wrong and will lose his play inside a thread that he started counts as a clear shi.t-post to me and the proliferation of such comments is rampant compared to 5+ years ago.
not saying everything was perfect "back in the good old days"...but the difference is notable and stark in terms of great, winning guys that share opinion and knowledge regularly and also the positive discourse that that creates....just a few examples from as recent as 3 years ago would be guys such as amd, suuma and league-capper.who all had brilliant threads every week in nfl and hardly any "fight" or clown behaviour ever reared its head....or was ignored/squashed quickly if so...there was often robust debate and thats perfectly fine of course.but not the childish tantrum throwing and name-calling that goes on now much more frequently.
