Slowly, the anonymity of the internet was exhibited and the trashing of such great cappers led to them slowly, one by one leaving. Covers linesman did little to stop the trolls from doing what they do best, ignoring winning plays and blasting losing plays to the moon and back. Now this site is left with very little real and insightful content...
I check in here about once every 3 months now just to confirm that the legends are still gone, flown to the little bird site where they post in peace.

The only pushback I would offer is that the betting sites are still gonna get their clicks from traffic here, and new traffic won't know Covers history and the really good cappers that are long gone. Our memories aren't currency any more, and good capping has been devalued for quite a while.

They once had a great handicapping contest between Teddy and one other pro- it was mesmerizing and they were doling out winner after winner, this kind of content would be amazing and would in the long-run drum up business for the cappers. Have a battle of the cappers- one pick a week survivor like contest and post it each week.
There are a million ways to make this better and I guess that is the issue, this management team keeps rolling out the same ugly drivel....

but i definitely cant disagree with your assertion that a tonne of incredible guys have gone elsewhere in the past 5 years and it has left a HUUUGE void in terms of knowledge,discussion,winning picks and the general tone/vibe in the place...suuma,amd,mrbator,leaguecapper,davidn etc. etc......of course we dont know the exact reasons in every case,some just want to be paid for their services/time and others im sure have either changed as people or had life circumstances altered..but there is zero doubt that the things you mention about the negativity and tone and trash comments being flung about the place incessantly,all that kind of thing will do nothing but drive good people away.pretty basic stuff.nobody voluntarily turns up for abuse and disrespect.
im not sure how an online site works or how to enforce certain rules but they should have some kind of protocol where if you post a certain number of "useless" non-constructive comments within a week you should just be booted...and i know its incredibly tricky and free speech is a thing and blah blah blah....but its pretty clear that things like "this is a loser","no chance this hits","thanks for the fade","you suck" add absolutely fuccing nothing and instead take away from the place being what it should be...disagreement is fine obviously.but to just drop in and offer no reasoning or conversation and in an un-provoked manner just to shi.t all over somebody that is giving their time/knowledge totally free should be unacceptable and should quickly result in a ban.
yet we have these types continue on month after month after month..entire histories just filled to over-flowing with negativity and pointless anonymous jabs...and soooooooooo many brand new accounts popping up constantly to do just this.i myself have on ocassion gone down to their level in a back and forth in an effort to offer some kind of resistance as there is none forthcoming from the site itself but we all know how fruitless that ends up being and it just ends up giving them the attention and gratifying feeling they so desperately need to fuel them.....just cant help it though when you see the shi.t that goes on un-abated for so long.

Fair enough, and I agree that it’s silly to sweat someone like Vanzack for pimping his Twitter site when he posts, but there’s some serious longtime posters here that bring better info and picks than any of these cats who want some money throwing their way for posting… I can go across the street and get every paid site for free I’ve ever wanted, but dudes like Mac, dirtbags, Estes, and I’m leaving out a ton, post week in and week out without bringing drama, and I can cross reference my own picks against theirs…. People coming in here looking for someone who post sure things on a consistent basis are lazy and undisciplined and don’t quite understand the concept of “gambling“, and those kids that do all the griping and bring the drama I pay no attention to….
