"Stolen Valor"

Definition:

"Stolen valor" is a term used to describe when someone falsely claims to have served in the military, earned medals, or held a rank in order to deceive others. The goal is often to gain money, property, or other benefits by convincing people that the individual is a decorated military hero. This can include lying about having experiences as a prisoner of war, or making up stories about military actions. Other tactics include exaggerating the length of their service, or using military jargon in their speech or writing.

Tim Walz re-enlisted for six years in the National Guard on September 18, 2001. That means he obligated himself to serve until September 18, 2007.

In 2003, then-First Sergeant Walz (E-8) signed a Statement of Agreement and Certification to attend the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, where he agreed to serve for a *minimum* of two years after promotion to Command Sergeant Major (CSM)

On September 17, 2004, then-First Sergeant Walz was frocked to Command Master Sergeant (E-9) of the 1st Battalion, 125th Field Artillery regiment. By doing so, he was obligated to serve as a Command Sergeant Major until September 17, 2006, and he still maintained his enlistment contract, which obligated his service through September 18, 2007.

In March 2005, Walz and 1/125 were notified they would be mobilized and deployed to Iraq.  They were given a 2 month window but no confirmed date (not out of the ordinary). 

On May 16, 2005, 7 months after assuming his position as the Command Sergeant Major of 1/125 and 2 months after being notified he was going to deploy to Iraq, Walz QUIT by dropping his retirement papers. This was a FULL 18 months before the end of his Sergeant Major academy agreement and 2.5 years before the end of his enlistment contract. Walz voluntarily signed two contracts to serve our country, went to school on the taxpayer's dime, used the rank of Command Sargeant Major, and quit without completing his full obligated time.

He falsely filed paperwork with the Minnesota National Guard to retire as an E-9, a Command Sergeant Major, knowing full well he did not meet the obligations to retire as an E-9.

On September 10, 2005, the Minnesota National Guard discovered that he didn’t fulfill his commitment and busted down his retirement rank from an E-9 to an E-8. His official retirement grade and rank is E-8: a Master Sergeant

Walz cannot claim the title of Command Master Sergeant. He was only frocked as an E-9 and never completed the requirements to be officially promoted to the rank of E-9. Walz is lying and cannot claim the title of command master sergeant, as he never met the criteria.

Walz referred to himself as a retired Command Sergeant Major in his run for Congress and Governor. This is a lie and stolen valor.

Veterans criticize Vance for attacking the military record of Walz.  Eustice praises Walz as a great soldier.  "When Walz chose to leave, he had every right to leave."  After 24 years of military service, Walz filed papers to run for congress and retired months before notification arrived of his battalion deployment in Iraq.  He became the top ranking enlisted soldier in congress.  Fighting for veteran benefits.  However Vance served military for only 4 years and as a war correspondent in Iraq.

I said this on the other thread but worth repeating here.  

"Filed papers and getting orders are two different things. Soldiers know this. This will be a developing story. If he abandoned his post like some in his company has alleged if you have any integrity at all you will immediately reject this man and his party on this fact alone. But I am sure we will find other reasons to deflect this story and still prop up this man that has done so much damage to Minnesota. Like I said I am looking for first person accounts. I have enough people in the same circle eventually I will find someone who served with him that can confirm or deny this. My experience is where there is smoke there is fire.

Then tell us because you certainly don't seem like you ever served if you don't know the different between putting in retirement papers and getting orders. So no FUCK YOU. Some of us did serve.

People seem to get confused.Former President Trump bone spurs is a completely different topic and he became President.

Libturds have difficulty with reality.This is part of the vetting process for Governor Walz and has nothing to do with anybody else.He misrepresented himself.That is not debatable.These fools on here can try to distract and deflect.Bottom line is it will interesting to see how this plays out.

The American voter and specifcally veterans will decide if this takes away from the Govenor's integrity.

 I think it does have an effect if voters care about integrity...it goes both ways with all candidates involved but if his bio was changed online after being announced then that should be comcerning....

I get cleaning shit up because now you will be scrutinized but why was it misrepresented to begin with...who were you trying to impress with the false representation? I mean if you were tryimg to get laid, ok, but other than that it doesnt look good....
