That's because buying a home requires savings for a down payment and owning a home is the most common way to build wealth.
But, homes in majority-Black neighborhoods are valued on average $48,000 *LESS* (-23%) than those with few or no Black residents, according to a 2018 Brookings Institution analysis.
This problem has amounted to $156 billion in cumulative losses, Brookings found.

Most black neighborhoods are shit holes that have been destroyed and neglected by Democrat politicians for the last 50 years. I think that’s relevant in an appraisal.
Did they mention how black people are disproportionately on welfare? Buying a home not only requires savings and a down payment, buying a home also requires A JOB.

"Discrimination and bias in appraisals contribute to inequity in housing values and adversely affect a critical source of wealth accumulation for minority families," Michael Hsu, acting Comptroller of the Currency, said Tuesday at a virtual event on home appraisal bias. "The impact is large and cannot be ignored."

Is it also systemic racism that auto insurance is also more expensive in black neighbors? Fubah, have any idea why? Your own ideas, not what person X said from an article?
He doesn't understand supply/demand or risk evaluation.

And the Gap is getting worse, not better!
The Black homeownership rate is just 42% in the United States today, compared with 72% for White Americans, according to the Urban Institute. Incredibly, that 30-percentage-point gap is larger than it was in 1968 — when housing discrimination was actually legal!

The experience of Carlette Duffy put an exclamation point on these appraisal issues. The appraised value of Duffy's Indianapolis home *MORE THAN DOUBLED* on a second attempt, after she concealed she is Black, by removing family photos and other items that indicated she is balck. Duffy had a White friend pose as her brother and meet the second appraiser, and only communicated via email.

You can't believe it, because there is NOTHING there that shows anyone as being racist. There goes Kelly, making shit up to try to bring someone down. Typical Lib.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — JPMorgan Chase said Thursday it will extend billions in loans to Black and Latino homebuyers and small business owners in an expanded effort toward fixing what the bank calls “systemic racism” in the country’s economic system.
“Systemic racism is a tragic part of America’s history,” said JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon in a statement.
“We can do more and do better to break down systems that have propagated racism and widespread economic inequality.”

Well, it's rather obvious then, that the appraisers need to have black skin color. That way...the homes in black neighborhoods will be appraised the same as white neighborhoods. We all know that good schools (#1 reason for buying a home) and a low crime rate (#2 reason for buying a home) are not at all related to the skin color, and the white culture is the same as everybody else's. Black culture does not need to drop the crime rate or improve their schools or get fathers to stay with their families and avoid drugs. This is all white people who hate black and brown skin color.
Exactly.
