Is it "OK" to say "retard" or "retarded" again now??
Legit question to MODS. I would like approval like I had in the late 80s and early 90s to call people "retards" and "retarded". Like my little brother back in the day, "hey you retard". Or "man that shit is retarded". Then he'd come back with "you're the gay retard". I remember those days fondly...I'm going to text my brother now....

It is so weird to me that it is a ‘bad’ word. What they say now is ‘slow’. How soon before that becomes a bad word.
You can’t call people fat or short, etc.
So any euphemisms that you use for ‘retard’ is going to be just the same. Those words are just not deemed ‘bad’ yet.

In my opinion no words should be “bad” it is the intend they are said with and not the words themselves (I know it is hardly any excuse but I only use the word “retard” like the slang form - I have yet to find myself in a situation where I have to talk about people that are retarded for real in English - when that time come I will call them slow if they tell me they prefer that) - and to be fair to call Slim. “Retarded” is mostly hurtful to the people that are retarded for real - he should consider himself lucky to get put in the box with them by me - I have higher hopes for them
I don't see it as any failure. Trump has several countries ready to negotiate, no need to keep everybody's undies in a bunch. He was showing he means it or at least bluffed that he means it.
Just like the deportations to El Salvador. No way he wins that in court, eventually he loses that one. But really he already won, big! Don't think that video from El Savador's airport with men in chains, head's held down and shaved on the tarmack wasn't staged. Great lighting, several camera angles. The powerful message that sent will be worth all the legal loses.
Same with the tariff barrage.
But I am glad some smart people have whispered in Trumps ears - and I don’t care if he will portray this as his master plan - this was a big W for the world - that we would have been in a better situation if he never had started it is another discussion - but we should celebrate the few wins we get - I guess we can count those on one hand after his 4 years in office - but this was surely one of them (maybe at some point he will also realise that the global trading market is not a zero-sum game - so everyone can potentially win it - he doesn’t have to hurt others to win

Trump has talked tariffs his whole election campaign. He won election in November and took office in late January.
How many countries stepped up knowing he was talking tariffs? How many said let's talk now?
Oh no, you have to "move their cheese" first to get action, so Trump moved the cheese as only he can. Not saying I agree or would use his methods but I understand where he is going.
And smart people are in his ear everyday, not men in lipstick and high heels. Earlier this week CNBC said they had a source who leaked the 90-day pause plan but then retracted it. Looks like their source was correct, it was in the works.
