The Newsletter Boys Playoffs Competition

This contest is open to anyone who has posted during the 2021 NFL season in the Newsletter.

We will use the lines from scoresandodds as of Thursday 5:00pm est.

Scoring system will be as follows:

First round 1 point for each win

Second round 1.5 points for each win

Third round 2 points for each win

SB will be used for tie breakers only

You can pick a side OR a total for each game, but ONLY ONE PICK PER GAME.

I am open to tweaking the rules for the competition, so feel free to make suggestions until Tuesday 9:00pm est, then we will lock in the parameters.

There will be a prize for the person who wins

I would think you would want a pick for each game. It's a point system, not a winning percentage

So once you post the lines, will those lines be the final ones? Because they can move until 3:00 pm EST on Saturday...

Imo this rule should be the most important one, given the Covid situation some players can be out at the last moment and the line can shift, as we have seen in other prior games.

I dont think it matters if we all have the same lines and have to be in by a certain time

I understand that covid makes this tricky, but if we don't lock in the same line for everyone then we might end up with 7 different lines on the same game. Not only is that not fair, it sets up as a pain in the ass for record keeping.

Plus, bringing a little luck into this contest is good for Cranky Hank because he could use it

 But it does matter, because some will benefit from a line moving and others wont, albeit unwillingly.

Imo we should make the picks based on the lines from tomorrow, since they are ones most close to the kick-off...

Fine by me, but can we use the lines from tomorrow? Surely tomorrow the teams will test their players.

I have my football pool that uses Thursday lines ..... For example last week Cleveland was a plus 2 although by gametime it was -5....we are all in the same boat with the lines being set . I would suggest you make your picks by 259 pm

I have tried to chase the lines before based on the set lines ....sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt ....If the prize involves meeting and spending a day with Bigred ...Your attitude should be better as this is a once in a life time prize
