I agree with you that there are a lot of useless trolls on covers, but I can assure you that there are numerous reports saying there is a zero percent chance that the name “Redskins” is coming back.
As Washington DC is currently one of the most liberal places in the country it would be highly unlikely to even think that this could happen. If it was the Wyoming Redskins then certainly it wouldn’t surprise anyone. But not happening in DC.

Hmmm interesting because just today on the news Montana Senator Steve Daines was saying in an interview that he was in close contact with the NFL and the commanders and had said that the discussions were going extremely well and he was optimistic about it moving forward and looking like it was going to happen.
He also said that the organization and the Indian tribes wanted the logo and name back to continue to honor Chief "Two Guns"
I posted this thread and I will continue to seek any further and upcoming developments.
Thanks for understanding about these ready to trounce on anything and anyone that makes a post trolls.

I may not agree with a lot of the things on covers, but barging into someone’s thread to tell them that they’re stupid and that their opinion is stupid is something you won’t see from me. That’s probably the worst thing about covers. People want to come into a thread, offer nothing to the conversation, and tell people that they’re an idiot. These people have no lives. Why even waste your time typing?

Unfortunately, the Commanders name will be a footnote in history. It was a mistake to change the franchise name because of a white people led movement had their minority voice heard. Funny that the white people who spearheaded the change still are up in arms over the Redskins name but Indigenous groups around the country didn't mind it at all... Who are we catering to nowadays anyways?

This is the US govt’s way of trying to make things right with the native Americans. We got rid of the Washington Redskins, gave them some small pieces of land, and some grants for their children to go to college.
How about instead of worrying about the name of an NFL team, we give millions of dollars in settlements to the tiny population that is left of this race/tribe for raping, pillaging, and conquering their people and land. I’d be willing to bet that if you did that, not only would they not give two shits about what we name our sports teams, but they’d have the money to come see a game and have a cold beer.
My point is this- if the US government/population thinks that by getting rid of the Redskins that we are making amends with the native people, that’s like smacking them across the face all over again.

I heard the old helmets will have an imagine of one of the old posters that offered a reward for dead Indians on one side and the old saying "the only good Indian is a dead Indian " on the other. You Sir Cake must not be aware that the term Redskin was a term of endearment.

I've had discussions with my gf on this subject. I consider her an 'expert' on the matter. She was a principal on a reserve in Canada and she said most found the 'redskin' term somewhat offensive.
And we have 'white' dudes on here discussing matters they know nothing about.
