I agree society has become very soft and way too politically correct, but this is not one of those instances.

How were the Bills supposed to continue playing after they watched their teammate and friend get CPR on the field in front of them? Then taken away in an ambulance with no update on his status. Give me a break

Out of the gate, I just find this entire post ironic but typical. More importantly, it has nothing to do with lack of empathy or insensitivity... it's about recognizing what the sport of football is. It is a dangerous game, and always has been, and the potential for serious and even life-threatening injuries are a cold reality.

I grant that there's a gray area, and at some point an injury could be too horrific or gruesome, and players just unanimously refuse to play.... but that did not appear to be the case. It looked like players were almost immediately preparing to resume play, but others stepped in to make a more executive level decision.  Just my interpretation of what I saw. 

Obviously there have been cases of a player dying on the field or court, and it's easy to see why the events would be stopped. I'm just saying this was an injury where the player was revived and taken off the field. We've seen other players that were paralyzed on the field, and the game resumed. We saw Joe Theismann's leg get snapped, and Lawrence Taylor in tears when he saw it...... on Monday Night Football!  Taken off in an ambulance....... that game resumed!

Like I said, I get that there's a gray area... but how far has it been pushed, and is it really justified?

Yes that's exactly right and my mom told me that in 1971, Chuck Hughes died on the field and they continued playing and finished the game.  Nowadays everyone needs to see a therapist so they can get in touch with their inner woman and process their emotions. How about we replay the game tonight just using flag football rules, and everyone can hug and cry after each play.

  Gray area? You're kidding right? The man was on the brink of death. If he doesn't have medical personnel there, he's probably not around today. It has everything to do with empathy and love for your teammate and friend  For someone who witnessed a near death tragedy with your brother, I am stunned by your lack of empathy, sensitivity, and clearly poor judgment on your part.
