Why 100% blacks?
It's what's popular.
Crazy how outright racism is ok now that the grifter in chief is back in office. All these keyboard warriors wouldnt say a damn word to a black dude in public, but because we have a known racist in office and an autistic Nazi sympathizer as his bitch, here we are.

I met Zig like 10 years ago and he was old then. Them dudes have to be like 80, or dead.

I'm black. That performance was trash. Rap performances rarely translate well to television. The Dre/Snoop/Em/50 performance was an exception. The songs were all iconic. Everything is racism.

Or all of the above would be interesting.

It wasn't my fav either. I would love to see Whitney (RIP), Lionel, Hendrix, or any other better music than rap. I liked rap in the 80's- 90's before it got trashy. It's not about race to me, it's about the genre. I love Chapel Hill too!! So, those making it racist here isn't necessarily white people. How about looking at the entire picture instead of immediately calling for "racism"? Geez.... so tired of it....

Rap just doesn't translate well to televised performances. All those songs are hits. They're bangers in their recorded versions. As a genre, it's hit or miss on TV. It's hard to get a proper mix.

So needed right now?
It was a subpar Super Bowl halftime performance, not We Are The World. It was about as needed as another beer, another hot wing, a bathroom break.

Since the PRIMARY mission of the NFL no longer is to WIPE OUT RACISM, there are still 3 living members of the GRATEFUL DEAD that could jam 20 minute DARK STAR at half-time.

This.
Nor does it translate well on stage in live performances, in general. There are some exceptions I suppose.
I've seen wu tang 3 to 4 times. Been a huge fan since high school. But live on stage they were a mess. Terrible sound, poor mic levels, all of them tripping over each other.
When I was just 16 years old I saw Cypress Hill at a low rider car show on the south side of Chicago. They were really good, I was surprised. Onyx opened for them. They were loud and obnoxious imo.
The atmosphere and situation gave me anxiety. The security guards had pitbulls with them. Any and every gang you could name was there. It was like something out of a movie but real life.
Non of us had cell phones back then.
The next weekend I was at a Pantera concert at the Aragon.
Wish I was young again

How many times has it been 100% “whites”? Most of them. Did ya post about that? Of course not.

I saw the dead at Alpine Valley in 1999 or 2000. Further Fest I believe. Not a fan of the music but it was a good show. Some days after my friend told me that it was the first time they played Touch of Gray since Jerry died. I was like oh, don't know the song but it sounded good.

There are exceptions. As rap music has become popular music, production quality has gone up for many touring acts. There are multiple factors. Rap is a lyric dominant genre. So the artist's own ability is a factor. Many rappers now tour with live bands. Makes a huge difference over backing tracked beats. Then it's in the sound guy's hands. There's so many legit touring sound engineers available that regardless of the size of the tour, the person behind the board is more than capable but I go back to my point, it's just a tricky genre to mix for live performance. Rap in fine in it's recorded form rhroufg stereo speakers or headphones. It just doesn't always translate live and really misses the mark on television. Again, there are exceptions. People complained about the Dr. Dre/Snoop/Em/50 show. Personal preference not withstanding, the sound quality was good.
Sidenote on live performances, the acoustics of each individual venue also effect quality. Are there flown line arrays or is everything on the ground. Are the boxes Meyers, DBs, L-Acoustics, etc or some knock off chinesium. Where a person stands in relation to the sound system is even a factor.
