Well AhiTov , you either learn to change your handicapping factors, or you get left behind . Don't bet totals huh ? Here's a suggestion .Try an over play if you are afraid of losing to totals. Most sports fans aren't as refined as you , hence juiced balls to run up the scoring , umps squeezing the strike zone ,etc. Football actually changed their rules to avoid low scoring , 1-0 games. Juiced balls are obvious. It's up to you to use all the tools at your disposal to help you make informed bets.

A hard salary cap might be the one thing to save MLB's space on the totem pole. With the Yankees payroll at 2 billion, & Pittsburgh's at 10 million, something tells me it will never come to pass .Just like now the only teams with full stadiums are the ones with the HUGE payrolls. The small market teams will continue to be patsies. There is no pressure on GM's to do anything but make a profit . The teams out on the field are there to make a profit for the owners , with contending teams w/big payrolls filling stands, & small market w/ little payrolls having sparse crowds. A hard salary cap, and revenue sharing I think is the answer. The NFL has that much figured out if nothing else .
