I did give him credit for a good fold because of his READ. Again, I am not saying it is easy to fold quads but in that situation he knew what his opponent had. What would you have done there? If you KNEW he had an ACE would it be hard for YOU to fold quad 8s? Probably not, and that was my point. If that's what you call a stupid comment you are entitled to your opinion and we can disagree.
I notice you quoted me as "its not that hard to fold quads" and then you said "I'd say I do it 4 times a week" making it sound like folding quads is commonplace. I said "since you knew he had an ace it really wasn't that hard to lay down" for that particular hand. Would you say that in this hand when he knew he hand an ace that you could not lay his hand down? Would it be hard even though you knew you were beat?
As far as coming into this thread and giving my opinion, what's wrong with that? I wasn't attacking anyone or making fun of their comments. You may have not thought it was useful, but look what your comment in this thread was. Your just felt the need to come into this thread and criticize and what was the usefulness there?
I have seen alot of your posts and you do like to give a thorough write-up and I've seen some where you like to make your little comments. Personally, I try to use the forum to give a respectful opinion and learn from others and I appreciate some of the reviews that you and others have posted. I just don't see why it cannot be done in a respectful manner. This is the last I will say on this matter and let's just agree to disagree because I do not see how this is beneficial for anyone.

I'm not trying to rain on your parade or anything YoungOne as it's very tough to lay down quads of course, but I don't see how this qualifies as the greatest laydown you've ever made.
As you said, the guy is old, senile, and plays very tight; he never bluffs. You also said you knew he either had AA, AK, or KK. And on the turn, when the second Ace lands, you said you reraised him and he called; shouldn't that have clearly told you he had an Ace? Honestly, I would have put you on an Ace after the turn when you called on the flop and bet on the turn as well, so why do you think he'd be in the pot with anything less? Why would he be in the pot with a KK with an Ace and two 8's on the board?
It really sounds like a good laydown because you laid down quads, but I think it was an easy one. Three aces on the board, you have the other two 8's, and this guy has been calling and betting the whole way with nothing but A's and 8's on the board.

I laid down pocket Aces preflop. I had middle position. This is at 400 table NL. 5/10 blinds. So the guy on the gun raises 75. Two callers, then as I was about to reraise, the guy to my right re-raises it to 275. I fold. He gets 4 callers. Flop comes 7d 7c 10c. The guy that raised on the gun, bets 250. One guy folds, one guy calls. The guy that reraised preflop re-raises again to 500 total. The guy on the gun calls and everyone folds. Turn card is irrelevant, i think it was like 2s. The guy on the gun goes all in. He has about 400 dollars. Big raiser calls. The guy on the gun holds a 7sAs and the big raiser has pocket Kings. Good lay down for me

You really think?? How much did you have? You could have moved in after the re-raise to isolate yourself against the KK guy and get the A7 under the gun out preflop. I don't understand why people think they made a "good play" when they lay down the absolute nuts preflop. Especially in No limit. You aren't going to win every pot with aces, but if played correctly, you are going to win more than you lose. I would have been DROOLING when the re-raise came behind you. Just my opinion

I couldn't agree more. I would not have been able to get my money in fast enough. With a raise and a reraise in front of pocket AA, I would have been all-in without much thought. Must be one of my weaknesses, I just cannot lay down pocket AA preflop.

You know what? You're absolutely right. My friends say the same thing. If I push in that situation, I get the guy with A7 suited out of the hand. Thats a easy fold for him considering he only put 75 and he's out of position. I don't know, that night was kinda off for me. I got a lot of bad beats with high pocket pairs and I was playing passive. Oh yeah and btw I had about 2200 in front of me when I had pocket aces.

wow, i just read jedimindtricks situation, and that has to be, the WORST fold ive ever heard in my life, worst play ive ever heard. The saddest part is that he/you thought you made a good fold, Then you come back in and said u had 2200 in front of you, enough to easily push a7 out of the pot and maybe even kk.
