3 years ago I was playing online in a $10-$20 No Limit Room. I was doing fairly well and had almost $1,000. At about 3 A.M. I had AA and of course the action was crazy right off the Bat.
 
One guy bets $100 then it gets raised up to $300, with Pocket Aces I had to go, then the Flop comes A,K,AH.
 
Winner right? it comes to me and I bet $150, then 3 people after me fold, then some dipshit puts me all in for my 500 whatever dollars I had left. I am like I got you now you bastard.
 
Turn Card was a King Of Hearts and the River was a 10 of Hearts.
 
And didn't that Fucker Have the Queen and Jack of Hearts in the hole.
 
My 4 Aces were Beaten by a Royal Flush. I just turned my Computer off in disbelief...
 
2 weeks later I won over 3K with 4 aces again over a guy who had 4 10's I bought my wife her engagement ring with that money.
 
There was a special on 20/20 a few months ago about online poker being rigged and no matter how they try to keep it legit, people always find ways around the system.
 
They even interviewed a guy who got caught cheating and sure enough he worked for the online company.
 
I've seen some crazy shit playing online that I have never seen playing "For Real" in home games.
 
One night I had the Ace of Spades 21 Times in 40 hands

100% True. I used to play just about every night at the Poker Room through allpro.com
 
When I used to play there, 4 of a kinds and straight flushes were plentiful.
 
I completely quit playing online Over a year ago. I played in 5 torneys one night and everytime I would get into the top 50, there was always someone at the table with a ton of money that would call my trips A's or K's with nothing and hit a River straight or Flush. I got knocked out of everyone with the same nonsense.

I am not lying about this. This REALLY did happen to me.
 
When that guy put me all-in, I didn't hesitate to call, His cards flipped Over Queen and Jack of hearts(Because we were the only 2 in). Then the turn was a King of Hearts and when the 10 of hearts flipped on the River. I could feel a burn deep in my stomach that made me feel like throwing up.
 
Now the thing is, even if this guy did in fact know what I had, there would be NO WAY in hell that he would even bet, let alone raise.
 
In my opinion he was testing me after the flop to see if I did in fact have an Ace, If I had more money and re-raised he probably would have folded.
 
And he was only one card from a straight at that point.
 
It just seeme like 1 out of 5 games has way too much action that keeps players in only to lead to a big upset.
 
When I won with 4 Aces Over that guy's 4 10's I did hit the 4th Ace on the River.
 
It's just hard to put 100% faith into anything that invovles money and the internet.

hey crowkillers, take a look at my message on page 2 of the CHALLENGE-COMPETITION blog. this kind of thing happens to everyone who has made a decent profit. the software on all online poker is rigged. and DON'T listen to chancep who is probably a site promoter as is electricladyland. well, electric might just be extremely ignorant.

There must be a lot of site promoters huh, since there are quite a few winning players online.  Fucking moron.

Everyone who thinks sites are rigged thinks this.

1) AK vs AQ should win 90 out of 100 hands.

2) AK vs QJ should win 90 out of 100 hands.

3) Call someones all in with J10 vs A9 flop a J and the guy rivers an Ace, the site is rigged.

4) Call bets with no odds and donk themselves into a corner, get AK vs QJ and lose and get bounced out of a tourney.

5) Play a big MTT, get down to the finla table and get your Aces cracked after your Bigg PP has held 5 other times in that tourney.

6) Just don't know you head from your ass when it comes to cards and just make shit up about why you lost that tourney.

7) small PP vs 2 over cards should hold up 65-75% of the time.

I doubt I am wrong at any one of these.

Well said, I have been playing online poker for 4 years now off and on and of course I've had some incredible hands that put me in either absolute joy or complete utter disbelief.

I'm surprised that NO ONE has made this statement yet. In a brick & mortar table, you are probably dealt 30-40 hands per hour. But online you play twice (if not more) as many hands. This will mean that you will run into twice as many straights, flushes, and sets. You will see more of your aces getting cracked, and more fishes calling you down with 44 or 68s.

When i first started out on partypoker 6 years ago, i was one of those fish and when i began losing crazy i had my doubts about online poker being rigged. Then I heard the argument I just laid down and it really made sense.

Dee, just the last few times ChanceP and myself have played live we have seen ridiculous things happen, there are tons of bad beat stories and that is just in the last 100-200 hands.  I would think you can play almost 5x as many hands in an hour online as to live.
 
Also, this should be #8 on my list, people will play small stakes, go on a rush, win 3-4 buy ins, move up in stakes lose 1-2 buy ins and be bust, not knowing that they will and should cool off.  Winning poker is a grind and if you think you will just keep doubling your bank roll people are mistaken.

definitely dude, i now change it to live games see 20-30 hands and online close to 100 an hour....


and let's not forget those that play 4-8 tables at ONCE! that's like 1000 hands daily...

When I was 8 tableing the .25/.50 I was averaging 1000 hands a day.  One day when I was coked up I played 5k hands, my bonus and rakeback was just kicking in.  It's hard to play live if you are used to the speed of the online game, if you get a good table it's not bad though.  The rake live kills the profit at the lower levels.

It seems that the majority of successfull players stick primarily with one-on-one tournaments. Headsup, I don't know why I just wrote 1-on-1. Anyway, I think there is an element of control that you have in 1-on-1 that yo udon't get at 6 person table. The donk factor isnt as high. For instance, if there are 5 donks and 1 good player and they endlessly play sitngos, i dont think the 1 good player will win much more than 20% of the time, which is higher than 1/6th even. But a good player vs a donk in a sit n go will probably take down 70% of them. Does this make sense? I believe the isolation reduces the variance, somewhat, beacuse its you against 1 hand not against 5+ hands.
 
I often feel when I have AA in a tourney , I have to beat 3 sets of hands to win that pot, even if I raise the shit outta it early.

HU, in my opinion, definitely reduces the variance. With that said though noone is gonna be able to maintain a 70% win rate over any sustained period of time. I have been about a 60-62% player for my last 2500 HU matches. I had a stretch of about 500 tournies where I went 65.5% and that was about as nice of a run as you could have. The absolute best player in the world I dont think could sustain ANY higher than 65% (if that even) and thats if he was playing small stakes. The guys who play $500 1-on-1s and up all their winrates are around 57-58% just because the majority of players they play are also solid players, as at my level (80s, 100s, and 200s) every guy I play is absolutely terrible. I also make sure of that by never sitting first, never facing an unknown. But HU for me is the way to go

70 was just a number i grabbed out of my ass to show a significant amount more than 50%. between 60-65% sounds much more reasonable. I'll stick with the statement that 20% in 6 person sitngos even with 5 donks is amazing, due to the donk factor.

it is well known that he took that site right off.  He knew what
the other players had.  You think you could beat poker if you

I guarantee one thing.  Online poker is rigged.  The only people
that say it is not rigged are the shills like angelo bruno, these
people get paid to take the other side of the argument.  These
MF person have all the answers to why it is not rigged.  Fu*k these
person.  They are only getting $5 an hour to take the other
side of the argument.
