who here has finished high in an online poker tournament?

just out of curiosity, i was playing in ftp's midnight madness tourney last night and finished around 200th and made twenty some bucks, and it just made me wonder if any covers member has made decent money in one of these tourneys.

so where were you playing?
which tournament?
what place did you take?
what where your monetary winnings?

you would think as many tournaments that go on at all of these online sites, at least a few of us covers members should have at least lucked out and finished top three in some of these tournaments

I used to play in a lot of poker tourneys and It seemed that I could always get into the top 50 or so(Depending on the number of players usually around 500 or so) and then some dipshit with nothing would always beat me on the river. I had this happen like 6 times in a row one day.

It would always be a guy with the big stack at the table calling or going all in with shit cards and hitting a straight or some silly trips on the river.

Just last month at pokerstars I played a $2.75 buy in tournament on a sunday afternoon with 7500 participants and ended up 3rd after playing for almost 12 hours(My AA busted preflop all in by a donk with 28 hitting 28 on flop).  Pay was just over $1700.  Before that didn't win much other than small sit n go's.  After being dicked around for my withdrawal I left and joined fulltilt a week later.  After playing 2 weeks at full tilt i finished 3rd in a 26$  re-buy and that got me another $2300.

I have been playing on mainly FTP for about 3 years.........have had many bad beat/bullshit type FTP beat stories.........also some drunken play has cost me...............but I did finish 3rd twice in large 24+2 fields.......I think it was the 10EST tourny both times........the first time netted about 2400 and the second about 3500

 I've won a couple small tourneys on pokerfan.............70-80 players.......$200-$300.........made final table in a couple of larger ones............I mostly play SNG's though........

Thanks cmo1037...yah I am still at fulltilt.  Like I said I just joined about a month ago.  Personally after playing at a few poker sites it is in my opinion by far the best one.  Cheers and BOL

I won a 300? person limit tournament on party poker about 4 years ago paid about $2,200.  I play on pokerstars now and make the final table in 100-200 person tourneys every now and again but havent finished in the top 3 in a big one in a while

5th the other day in a bodog freeroll and 8th in the cheap buy in tourney.. At the final table, had around 270K, picked up 10 10.. Standard raise, and a reraise, call. Flop 2 5 8, rainbow. Thought it was safe. Bet, raise, had a feeling I was beat 4 some reason, called anyway, and of course trip 8's. Didnt bother me at all as I put some awful beats on guys to get there, so I figured it was payback..

Have made final tables many times in the big tourneys. Have won two and came in second a bunch. Best wins were 12,000 and 7500. The tourney where I won 7500 was the 3 dollar rebuy one at poker stars.I think i played that tourney for over 12 hours. Had a huge chip lead and got sucked out in heads up then ended up coming in second. Second made a few grand less and I went on tilt even tho I just won 7500 on a 3 dollar tourney. Put it all in a cash game hammered and lost every penny that same night.

overall ive done pretty well at tourneys, i play cash games though, i dont remember the last time ive played a tourney though and i havent played a big tourney(more than 30 players) in well over a year.

Stopped playing shortly after online win. I was addicted bad and I mean bad. I'm an adult and needed my life back. I've played like twice in $5 sit n go's since then. Clearly I'm thinking about playing again if I'm reading these posts. Is it football season yet?????

 

Finished second in the Fulltilt Daily "B" tourney for 1200 dollars.

If I remember correctly there were over 2100 people.

came in 2nd in the bodog 100k guarantee and won the made deal at final table of the 100 dolar  50k guarantee
on poker stars bodog was for 12500 and stars was for 11000

I once won the bonus of FT for the Daily Double (highest combined finish in the 2 tourneys) and I once won a 7-card stud tourney on PartyPoker...there were 278 entrants in that tourney.  I have also won a number of 90-man S&G's on FT.

Last December. 3100 entrants to a 11+R NL Hold Em Tourney on PokerStars. I only took one add on. I tied for first.  Me and the other guy were about even in chips and decided to call the moderator and split.  Took about 11 hours.  I took $10,900.

Played a $2500 freeroll last night at my sportsbook poker rooom. Every friday night at bookmaker they have a freeroll that costs 10pts and award $ to your sportsbook account as freeplay (5x rollover).  There was 281 participants and top 15 get a piece of the pie. Finished 1st and just recieved $750 in freeplay. Hopefully can rollover 5 times to take out some good coin.
