I'm sure those Michigan winters you are not missing

    kc,

Actually I've been down here since 76 & my connection to Michigan is by marriage only. We like to spend the summer up there but come back home before the snow even thinks of coming down. A couple of years ago, a scumbag friend of ours robbed our house & stole our car on Christmas Eve. Cops contacted us & we spent January through the start of baseball season up there dealing with the police, the insurance company & the security company who had this a-hole on video using the key we left with his Mom for emergency purposes to enter our home. I froze my ass off but the boss loved doing snow angels in the yard. The guy got 57 months but died in the Jackson,MI prison. He got so much time because he was a repeat offender & got caught with meth on him when arrested. Funny how things work out.

The POS wants to invade Canada & Greenland but can't handle a little winter weather. What a puss!

Good luck getting your inauguration ticket refunds. You're not getting anywhere near the rotunda.

International emergency economic powers act is supposed to be for threats against the US.  However Canada and Mexico are allies of no significant threat.  Trump economic war is based on delusions.  First, the world is ripping off the US.  Economists don't see trade deficits and surpluses as problems but Trump does.  Secondly, trade wars don't harm the US.  Americans pay the tariffs and trade wars usually result in more pain than gain.

Pres. Trump has already signed his executive orders to reverse several key elements of the ACA, aka Obamacare. The following is the comment from Kevin Thompson, founder and CEO of 9i Capital Group

"The most vulnerable populations will be the hardest hit. Non-expansion states—many of which are red states—tend to have higher percentages of their populations enrolled in the ACA Marketplace. Also under the Pres. Biden's executive order, the restoration of coverage for the people with preexisting conditions and reinforced nondiscrimination policies, is also reversed by Trump's executive orders yesterday.

How many people, who needed and had their medical protections by the Pres. Biden's executive orders, have voted for Trump in this election? It might be thousands and thousands. And now their medical protections are either stripped or in jeopardy.

These states will face significant challenges with shorter enrollment periods and reduced subsidies. What was once campaigned as "we won't touch entitlements" is now coming dangerously close to contradicting that promise."--Trump Changes Health Care Enrollment for 24 Million People: Who's Impacted

Why would the CONVICTED FELON & disgusting SEX-OFFENDER do something so stupid?  Or is this fascism?

The program is very popular among the majority of Americans.

    @fubah2

I guess, there are people either knowingly or just don't care about their fundamental medical benefits will be gutted or reduced under Trump's administration. And these people still casted their ballots to Trump last year, in terms that ideology outweighs their fundamental necessities. That's how politics goes, Fubah. I perceive.

Enormous mistake for Trump to withdraw US from World health organization and Paris accord on climate change.  His shameful embrace of science denial puts the entire world at greater risk of climate catastrophe and deadly pandemics.

I think these are huge victories. What risk of climate catastrophe comes from withdrawing from the Paris Accord? I know you won't answer. As far as WHO, they've already proven that they're in the pocket of China and don't give a darn about us. They fed us falsehoods during covid. Why would we continue to pump money into these endeavors?

    an_eek2  HEADLINES today . . .

The CONVICTED FELON  who is head of the notorious Trump Crime Family releases hundreds of convicted criminals back on to the streets! surprised

Trump’s Tuesday night grant of clemency “to all of the nearly 1,600 people charged in connection with the attack” includes pardons for “for violent offenders who went after the police on Jan. 6 with baseball bats, two-by-fours and bear spray and are serving prison terms, in some cases of more than a decade,” The New York Times noted.

He also pardoned or commuted the sentences of several leaders of thefar-right extremist militias: Proud Boys and Oathkeepers who had been convicted of seditious conspiracy.

    Gertz, MMFA -

Fox News stars have been assuring their audiences that Trump’s long-stated promise to pardon what he termed the Jan 6 “hostages” would be limited ONLY to NONviolent offenders who participated in storming the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.

[IOW:  "You can trust us, folks....Our VP-elect, JD Vance said that "Obviously those who committed violence that day should NOT be released" and Trump is good and decent man. Don't believe the lying Democrats! We know for a fact he would never do anything so reckless, so stupid!"]

But on his first full day in office,
[the convicted felon] pardoned or commuted to time served every person convicted in connection to their illegal actions that day - including those who violently assaulted law enforcement and participated in seditious conspiracies.

    @fubah2

I got the UNDER/OVER @ 1 month before one of these domestic terrorists gets arrested again.

The POS was seen laughing about the California fires and said "Marjorie & I gave Newsom the solution to the fires. They have to turn on that water valve up there in the Pacific Northwest. The water will get there almost immediately because everyone knows water runs downhill from the north to the south. Marj advised them to turn down those Democratic weather machine dials to a low setting. I'm trying to help them."

Numerous Fox personalities condemned the Trumpist violence at the Capitol in its immediate aftermath and called for the perpetrators to face consequences!

    CNN -

“Those who truly support President Trump … we
do not support those that commit acts of violence,”
Hannity said on his show that night.

He added that people should not “be vandalizing
our nation's Capitol, attacking the brave men and
women that keep us safe in law enforcement,”
    and Hannity concluded that

“all of today's perpetrators MUST be arrested
and prosecuted to the full extent of the law!!!” an_arsed

FOX NEWS Jesse Watters said that day:

“I want to speak to the people that think it wasn't that big of a deal,” Watters said on The Five the next day. “Yes, you’re allowed, as a member of the public, to go into the people's house, but you have to go through the front door and you have to pass through a metal detector. You can't smash windows, spray police with chemical agents, assault police officers, loot, and vandalize!!”

Yesterday I was accused of not being vey bright & at the risk of doing that again, I have another question.

The POS signed an executive order revoking the Equal Employment Opportunity Act, which was signed by Lyndon Johnson in 1965 and has remained in effect for 60 years. It prohibits discrimination against protected classes in employment by any contractor who does business with the federal government. At least it did for the last 60 years.

In my business career, I was always able to hire the best candidate & did just that. However, I remember working with a Fortune 500 company & was on a recruiting trip with a good dude from the HR department. So we're having beers & he tells me my hiring practices were great because I am not hesitant to hire a black female which checks off 2 minority categories & it helped the company's requirements for doing business with the government. I honestly had never given that a thought but I could understand his stance because he worked in HR & knew the numbers better than I .So my question is....

Is a company doing business with the government no longer legally responsible if they choose to discriminate in their hiring?

I believe the answer is YES.

    Am I wrong?

The way I read the order and the resulting discussions around it by people OUTSIDE the MAGA closed-information bubble, no, you are not wrong.....thanks to the racist/fascist/CONVICTED FELON & sex-offender they may indeed be free to discriminate once again.

The country is going backward in time to the bad old days.
