The greatest president? Woah full stop among the top 10 but the list of giants that held the presidency and truly changed America

Washington, cementing a strong federal government to secure the land held by conquest Jefferson and lousinanna land purchase Monroe cementing America interests in both and south America,  Woodrow Wilson winning ww2 Roosevelt so many lists of accomplishments could be the greatest.

Yes Obama's administration did lead us out of the bunk house disaster of Aig and the mortgage melt down but the scandals over shadowed that administrstion.

    The worst president

Trump for his failed coop attempt.

Disagree …….Obama didn’t do a thing for 8 years other than put a band aid on healthcare. He showed leadership at time of financial crisis but really did nothing other then “shovel ready” and kept Bushes guys Geitner and Bernanke to run fix. O ran on debt being “un American “ but natl debt skyrocketed. In fact, he torpedoed the rec of his own Simpson Bowles commission. Also, ran on income disparity remember Joe the plumber but income disparity increased Foreign policy was a fiasco and 3 of his own advisers, Clinton, Gates, and Hagel all criticized as having no direction. His biggest failure, and actually caused us to endure the clown, was immigration. Could have had a deal when Bush was pres but O torpedoed it for political reasons. While President kept it as an issue for political reasons and then in desperation at end acted by executive order even though knew it would be negated . Obama only rated high by lame stream media who coddled him his entire term By objective standards Obama gets a C …. and don’t call me a trumplicker cuz he gets an easy F

Just look at Jimmy Carter. Nice honest guy. I even voted for him . But any1 alive back then objectively has to say failed presidency. Putting him anywhere near bush1 or Clinton can only be explained by 1 thing ……….BIAS

    True!

This bipartisan survey is not a lot different than the Siena College survey I have posted several timeson this forum.  The latests iteration from Siena was from last September.   REPUBLICANS Eisenhower and Reagan were both ranked higher than #17 Obama. Trump ranked #42 out of 44 but that was before he incited an insurrection, the BIG LIE, and now we learn how he secretly tried to overthrow the election results by weaponizing the DOJ.

The independent/bipartisan Presidential Greatness Rankings also came to more or less similar conclusions.

Subjective surveys from liberal historians/colleges do very little for me. Talk specifics on the issues. Because they ranked Eisenhower and Reagan accurately doesn’t mean they did the same for Obama. The press/ historians loved Obama and despite the fact that he accomplished very little on the critical issues they still rated him high .19 seems more reasonable but no way was he a more effective president then Clinton and would not put him among the greatest of r lifetime. Just look at Siena 2018 prior to COVID , rating Carter on the economy higher then Trump. Anybody alive during the Carter years and 20% interest rates knows that can only be explained by 1 thing. Just like y’all, they like Carter and don’t like trump. That’s called bias

Agreed! I'll defer to their far more experienced and far greater levels of post-secondary education and research than mine.  They spend a lifetime specifically in the field of their crafts and are very well respected for it.   Over 400 of them.

Just to show how laughingly biased these liberal so called unbias surveys r. Just look at Siena 2018. The unbiased clowns were asked to score recent presidents on the objective metric on whether they moved the country in the right direction on “the quality of r democracy” N 5/95 F 70/30 Ca 82/18 B1 68/32 Cl 62/38 B2 30/78 O 79/21 T. 8/92 The number on the left is right direction the # on the right is wrong. Notice how much higher the Ds scored from the so-called unbiased panel. Also, while Reagan is scored higher in the overall ratings, he is rated significantly lower than all Ds including Carter. Why….. cuz they didn’t like him

This is apparent though not quite as wide a spread in the other two most recent  bipartisan surveys.

    Still quite wide separation though!

Obama is one of the best presidents in US history according to Pew research and You Gov-Economist polls involving thousands of American adults.  Cspan and Siena polls are more objective because of two reasons.  First, presidential academics are better educated about all presidents than most people. Historical accuracy matters to them.

Secondly, presidents are compared to their peers and ranked on many different categories so partisanship doesn't matter here.  For examples, crisis management, performance under circumstances, relations with congress, administrative skill, moral authority, pursuit of equal justice for all, foreign relations, economic management, persuasion, etc.

They lean noticeably to left and as noted the way they graded each recent President on a worthless subjective metric of whether they r moving the country in regard to “the quality of our democracy” the democrats scored significantly higher than Republicans. Carter, a failed presidency, scored way higher then Reagan. The only way to explain that is Carterwas more in line w their views (ie left)
