What USA policy states a Vice-President is obligated to demand a foreign official be fired in order to receive funds, especially one that is investigating a firm that employees your son? If there was a policy for this, why did Biden just not refer to it? Why has Blinken simply not referred to it? Otherwise, this can be seen as, at best, a conflict of interest and, at worst, exactly what it looks like. Their only defense so far is that a whole slew of other European officials wanted the prosecutor fired -- this turned out to be false as well.

In the email, Pozharskyi emphasized the “ultimate purpose” of the agreement, which was to shut down any cases or pursuits against Burisma’s founder, Zlochevsky. The significance of this email cannot be overstated.
Dec 4, 2015; Archer testified that on December 4, 2015, Hunter Biden ‘called D.C.’ in a private meeting with Zlochevsky and Pozharsky in Dubai following Pozharsky’s request.

However business partner Archer testified Shokin wasn't investigating Burisma. In Trump impeachment inquiry, various officials confirm that removing Shokin wasn't about protecting Burisma. Kent Ukraine chief of mission, Volker US representative for Ukraine negotiations, Yovanovitch US ambassador to Ukraine and watchdog Anti-corruption action center. Investigation by senate committee found no evidence of wrongdoing by Joe Biden.
Now let's look past Shokin.
Ruslan Ryaboshapka replaced Shokin. A prosecutor under him, Kostyantyn Kulyk was in charge of Burisma investigation. Kulyk had sought to recover billions of dollars' worth of assets that former President Viktor Yanukovych and his inner circle, including Mykola Zlochevskiy, allegedly stole from the state. Zlochevskiy is the owner of the Burisma Group, the nation’s largest privately-owned natural gas producer. Burisma received many of its gas exploration and production licenses when Zlochevskiy headed the Ministry of Ecology in Yanukovych’s government.
January, 2017; Ex-Ecology Minister Mykola Zlochevsky was cleared of corruption charges and can now return to Ukraine after three years of exile The Prosecutor General’s Office sat on the case for two years. It finally changed the thrust of the investigation from illicit enrichment to tax evasion, and then settled. But prosecutors are now under fire from anti-corruption activists for intentionally botching the case and letting Zlochevsky off the hook.
Kulyk in 2018 compiled a seven-page, English-language dossier on the Bidens that accused Hunter Biden of corruption. He circulated the document, which also accused U.S. diplomats of covering up for crimes allegedly committed by the Bidens.
Kulyk was fired in November, 2019.
The European Commission praised Ukraine’s Prosecutor-General Viktor Shokin for his efforts to fight corruption in a December 2015 progress report published nine days after then Joe Biden demanded his ouster.
The report flies in the face of Biden’s claims that the European Union joined his demands that Shokin be removed for being corrupt and obstructing anti-corruption reforms.
In fact, the Dec. 18, 2015, progress report says that the European Union was satisfied that Ukraine had achieved “noteworthy” progress, including in “preventing and fighting corruption,” and thus was eligible for visa-free travel in Europe.
