One of Biden's first moves as potus was to remove the houthi's from the terror watch list.......it took a few attacks but they seemed to convince him that they're "watch worthy".

So when are we putting Israel on the list of terrorists? I dont know why we try to classify groups like we do, what does it accomplish? We seem to change the reasons to fit what purpose we are aiming at. We want iran and Syria to stay inside the box and not develop nuke capabilities or expand them so we try to negotiate and we do that with every country in that classification. I remember one dude kissing up to North Korea not long ago, that was super cool.

@wallstreetcappers
So when are we putting Israel on the list of terrorists?
I would say when they make this list:
Nearly all of the world’s deadliest terror attacks in past 20 years have been committed by Islamic extremists:
- Sep 2001 NYC: most deadly in history w/2,977 killed.
- Oct 2002 Bali, Indonesia: Nightclub bombings killed over 200 people (almost half were Australians). US consular office also targeted. Militants with Jemaah Islamiyah convicted for the attacks.
-March 2004 Madrid: train bombings killed 193 & injured nearly 2,000.
-Sep 2004 Beslan, Russian Fed: school siege by Islamic militants led to 334 dead, most of whom were children
-Aug 2007 Mosul, Iraq: car bombings targeting Yazidis killed 500
-Dec 2008 Congo: Ugandan rebel cult group led by Joseph Kony killed 620 people celebrating Christmas
-May 2014 Gamboru & Ngala, Nigeria: Jihadist Group Boko Haram killed more than 300
-July 2014 Tikrit, Iraq: ISIS killed 1500 Shia & non-Muslim cadets
-July 2016 Baghdad: ISIS killed 340 in Shia district
-Oct 2017 Mogadishu, Somalia: bombing killed 600 by al-Shabab member
-Nov 2017 Bir al-Abed, Egypt: mosque frequented by Sufis attacked by 40 militants, killing more than 200
-July 2018 Sweida, Syria: 258 known to have been killed in bombings & shootings by ISIS
-April 2019 Colombo, Sri Lanka: Nearly 300 killed in bombings on churches & hotels
This is your religion of peace
Obviously an older list -- but you can add to it more of the same.

My point is if you ask the enemies in the region would they consider Israel to be terrorists?
The answer is YES they would, so the whole argument is completely subjective.
When we pander in certain instances and condemn in others, what does it all mean? It means Club cannot make this claim and try to partisan blame Biden, the reason for decisions are fluid and connected to various objectives.
Didnt Trump adore and fawn over Putin and Un and Napoleon and Hitler? Threads like these are pretty lame.

No they would not. They consider them infidels and want them dead. They are not 'terrorizing' folks and trying to wipe them out.
Huge difference.

Of course he can, he just did.
Biden is the one that needed to keep them on the list, of course.
What it means -- is that these are the folks to be vigilant about. Have them on the no-fly zone; do not let them in your countries, watch what weapons they are getting; put sanctions on countries that harbor them, etc. etc.
Of course you want to alert other countries as well when your intelligence tells you that you have a potential terrorist group.
Being nice and pandering to them has been proven not to work.
It means exactly what the man said: it is better to fight them over there than in your own country. You have to stay ahead of these things and this is one of the ways of doing it.

Israel and especially their clandestine arm does not terrorize?
Sorry but that is just laughable, they are terrorists to Palestine, you are very mistaken but the difference is we SIDE with Israel so they are not terrorists...

No
What is laughable is someone not understanding the difference between extremists that are actual terrorists and those that are not.
Palestine? The ones that have the actual terrorists and refuse to live in peace with anyone, including themselves?
I am very sure when anyone else in the world thinks of terrorists they are not worried about an Israeli blowing up an airplane or coming to their city in Europe and blowing a building up.
No

@Raiders22
You are confirming exactly my point...we side with Israel so they are not even though they conduct terror attacks on those around them and they have a subversive group that we know does those things. No question to me that YES they are in the same category. What you see differently is that I consider both to be the same definition, you think that there is rationale behind what Israel does and thus they are not the same. I do not agree and consider Israel to be in the same category, the only difference is we support them and we back them and supply them.

My point in posting this was that Biden done a number of things with no understanding of why he was doing it, other than to spite Trump. He has no concept of "Chesterton's Fence"........he has placed party over country.

Well, I am certainly glad that the Western World does not see it your way.
This is the same philosophy that has you guys patting down grandma in the airports just to be politically correct and appease the Liberals.
No rational thinking person, even remotely, classifies Israelis in the same grouping as extremist terror groups.
That is not a well thought out position.

You can 'blame' Biden because, of course, he is the figurehead.
But I guarantee you he has not made any decisions on this level. This is all the knuckleheads running him and making the decisions for him.

@Raiders22
The position you made is based on assumptions and allegiances, we back and blindly support Israel so whatever they do is within the limits that we accept as a country and a government. Does that make it true? No it does not. I do not consider their covert acts to be any different than what other covert acts are done in that region by their enemies. There are groups that think the CIA are in the same classification and its likely there is some truth to that. The CIA has done some pretty nasty covert acts and yet since its our government and our objectives its ok and I am not sure the line between what is OK and what isnt is very clear.
I think the reason why we are wishy washy on terrorist classification is as I stated above, we have many objectives floating all the time and at TIMES we have tried to be reasonable with Iran and others and that is to keep their nuke efforts within our control and what we feel is acceptable and so Iran and other groups want things in return so we play the chess game of diplomacy and that is the case here. Biden is "rushing" as Club states because now they are not being wooed to achieve an objective thus they are now more of our enemy. Russia has gone from enemy to friend and back and forth, some guy likes North Korea when I have no idea why that would ever be the case.
This partisan nonsense is so tired and boring...

You simply need to understand why they do the 'covert acts' AND 'covert acts' are NOT terrorism. But they have to be out in front of and anticipate the real terrorists. There is a big issue now with putting blame on the latest failure and a push for more of the 'covert acts'.
No one is supporting them for 'terrorism'. If you cannot draw the distinction I would simply look into it a bit more.
When you say 'you think' it does not sound good enough. You need to know why it is and not 'think' you know why.
Being 'reasonable' is not the correct term. Trying to 'force' people to like your way of government and to stir away from an irrational hatred of Israel and the West is not being reasonable.
I more than anyone get the CIA part. That was my point to you before when Bush was put in charge. Then watch what happens in later times, etc. But it is slightly more nuanced than you state it.
This is the same mindset that refuses to punish criminals because they had 'bad circumstances' or 'did not get a fair shake'. Wrong is wrong and people know it.
These real terrorists know what they are doing and we know it, so there is no need to not be vigilant about it.
Like we always say 'reasoning' is not what took them there so you cannot 'reason' them away from it.
Reason and acceptance is not what these folks want. When you do not exhibit strength, they will take advantage of that.
The partisan part may be tired and boring -- but Liberals will always try to appease and reason with folks when sometimes it is not the right path.
You have to have a deterrent in place for these folks.

You realize this can be put to the test? And has even somewhat been done in this last war.
Not a chance everyone in the West would back Israel if they went all over the place bombing and terrorizing folks.
People already have a lot of disdain for them. They would absolutely turn on them wholesale if they commented what is considered blatant terrorist acts.

"This partisan nonsense is so tired and boring..."
I agree. Actions have consequences & failures are failures, regardless of affiliation. There are many here that, if Biden fell face-first into a pile of dung would give him a "10" for artistic impression, simply because he represents the left. It's tired & it's destructive.

@Raiders22
The reality is we make these situations happen because we try to play all sides to accomplish our objectives and as we do this there are downside risks. So in the case of the nuclear programs we try to influence/contain/reduce we have made efforts to be open and reasonable to obtain THAT objective and in return there are give and takes which is a part of negotiation, much like how we have see sawed with Russia so many times over the decades and tried to influence cruddy countries like Pakistan, North Korea etc. So this designation flip flopping is all about diplomatic chess and pretty much zero about Biden. We take a huge risk making large moves to our other goals, if we go on the offensive with this situation it wrecks what we are trying to accomplish in other situations. It is my opinion that attempting to pin something on one person or party is pretty lame it is erroneous and only serves to divide voting groups and motivate citizens to take part in an election. We seem to kick up dust much more around election cycles and this is no different.
The terrorist topic is too subjective and we are biased in our conclusions. I do feel that Israel in their regional efforts are just as complicit to killing innocent citizens and being brutal in how they perform their objectives and that to me is terrorism the same as their enemies retaliating for this multi generational war which will never end. The definition of terrorism is for sure defined by groups in different ways. US citizens see terrorism in ways that is not considered in the middle east or in communist countries and people. I think we should hold Israel to a higher standard of military decisions and hold them responsible for terrorist acts they do, but the reality is that Israel will do what they want, how they want and will not respect our perspective or requests. We have little to no influence on their agenda of destroying all that they consider their enemies.

Lets rephrase because you are trying to be coy here...these partisan threads and topics are boring and tiresome, you make most all of your threads to beat your partisan drum and it accomplishes nothing. Blaming Biden for anything you read about on some conservative site and drag over here is tiring and boring. Biden has no more responsibility for this flip flop designation than any other president. We have been going back and forth with these groups for decades so why are you so fixated on partisan whining so much?
Biden is not smart enough to be doing all you are blaming him for and the military is not a big group of liberals attempting to infiltrate the world with that horrible liberal agenda you have concocted in your mind. Too many moving parts and players to force the partisan blame tactic in pretty much anything regarding politics and government.

Correct. Stop trying to be 'reasonable' with folks that are not 'reasonable'. I have already said that.
It is NOTHING like the Russia thing at all. Russia did not want to use nuclear weapons; these folks crave to use them.
This you have to understand as the premise of any action or argument going forward on policy.
A huge difference.

So this designation flip flopping is all about diplomatic chess and pretty much zero about Biden.
Absolutely it has everything to do with him; he is the one changing policy midstream and trying to 'reasonable' -- we just decided that does not work.
He is in charge, so he gets the blame, no matter how much you Liberals want to lay the blame elsewhere. He needs to find better handlers and advisors.

No it isn't. There is a clear definition and many examples of it -- from this group.
It is subjective to you because you want to classify being pro-active or running covert operations to obtain intelligence to prevent terrorism as a univocal use of the word 'terrorism'.
That is decidedly superficial at best and duplicitous at worst.
