I completely stand by what I said.
We are talking about rights and liberties.
People that lobby to take away rights (like Costas ) are responsible in the wake of 9-11 for stripping away the rights of the American people under the guise of protection.
OBL took away ZERO rights. ZERO. He had neither the capacity nor inclination to do so.
Sure Gun control laws are up for discussion, But who is being tacky, me or the guy that brings it up during Sunday night Football?
Part of me thinks that this inflammatory monologue was probably put out by the NFL, so the discussion today would be about gun rights, and not the mental health issues of those suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury (talk about an industry that is profiting from the pain of others).
Let me expound on my position.
There are 3 ways that people react to tragedies like this.
1) Fear, people are fearful that something like this could happen to them, and most of these people seek protection from the first person that offers it. No matter the cost. A great example of this would be the theater owners that contacted the Department of Homeland security following the Aurora shooting, asking for protection.
2) Opportunity, those that see the tragedy as an opportunity to implement, objectives and agendas that they already have waiting to go. An Example of this would be the post 9/11 roll-out of the "project for a new American Century" plan for the united states. DHS, War Capabilities, police state etc.
3) Those that can properly identify the above two reactions, and see them for what they are, Fear and Opportunity seeking. Those that realize that the anti gun agenda existed long before this tragedy, and the same players are coming out of the woodwork to support gun bans. Those that can see that people are fearful for their safety, fearful of gun violence, and easily manipulated IE Costas' Loud Music Playing Teens getting murdered in cold blood etc.
It was bullshit that Costas did this. I know you disagree, that is fine.
Just know that people like Costas, that seek to take away American's liberties are more detrimental to the Republic, Constitution, and American way of life than any outward enemy.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague."
-Marcus Tullius Cicero.
