Florida has an extremely high percentage of the country’s 65+ population.
Florida had extremely business friendly Covid restrictions.
Florida had an extremely low death rate considering how many 65+ people live there.
And 60 Minutes does a hit piece on Gov Ron DeSantis?
Do you want to know why?
60 Minutes is THE top tier propaganda program used by The Establishment in the United States. When people like Joe Biden were selling the Iraq Invasion to Americans they used programs like 60 Minutes to back up their pitch.
The Establishment views DeSantis as a threat in 2024.

Oregon's rate is 56. Washington, home to the first outbreak in the country, sits at 69. I don't know if i'd call Florida's rate extremely low.

50 k cases for a population of 1.5k people 33 per 1000 were infected but our Portland wasn't in total riot during the protests is the only factor that I see in the two states policies are about identical.
Same demographic your a east west urban rural ours is south north urban to rural.
The other factor is vaccine we received very little and our population is only 1/3 immunized. Oregon has received much more not sure interns of vaccination process but obviously flu prevention techniques mitigated the mortality rates here.

Oh my god, you fucking bastard! I was just about to say something to your point about the population density in the state of Florida.

And i'm not sure if there are metrics that measure what i'll call "actual population density" but there are a fuck ton of out of state people in Florida pretty much at all times. Even during Covid.

To the counter, i'd say California, by comparison, the most populous state. High on the list of density. Not what I would call a bastion of exellence in governing, I never could stand Newsome even in SF, lower than Florida. Not by much but lower. What i'm saying is while I appreciate your willingness to always back up your opinions with data, some things are just a lot more nuanced than that. What should be taken from this is just a reinforcement of our system of states being given the proper autonomy to govern themselves as our forefathers intended. Florida didn't shut down and it's looking like it was the best decision for them. DeSantis is smelling pretty rosy. Oregon did partially shut down. And as much as I hate to admit it, it was probably the best decision as well.

California has the 27th highest death rate and Florida has the 28th.
California crippled business owners. Florida was extremely business friendly.
California had the most strict school policies in the state. Florida closed schools for a little bit but DeSantis admitted his mistake and reopened in person education.
Florida is the clear winner.

Florida really isn't doing so great during the pandemic. 24 states have lower covid death rates than Florida according to Statista and Worldometer. Florida has the 4th most number of covid deaths. Journal of public health reveals Florida is under counting the number of covid deaths by thousands. If states didn't impose lockdowns and mask mandates, there would be far more covid cases and deaths. In 2020, coronavirus is the third leading cause of death in the US.

The last time Dr. Eyad Almasri had a day offwas in November, when he was infected with the novel coronavirus. His symptoms were not life-threatening, but it crushed him, he said, that he couldn’t be with his patients for 10 days.
A pulmonologist with the Fresno campus of UC San Francisco, Almasri works in the intensive care unit at Community Regional Medical Center in downtown Fresno — so packed with COVID-19 patients that the hospital has had to create makeshift isolation wards, including one in a hallway. Exhausted staff, working long hours seven days a week, rarely take off their protective gear because the entire area is the “dirty zone” — a phrase Almasri detests. With so many patients, there is no time for breaks anyway.
The story was similar this week in much of the San Joaquin Valley, where hospitals were crowded with COVID-19 patients. As of noon Saturday, availability of ICU beds in the region was zero. Fresno, a metro area with more than 1 million people.
Many died who needed hospitilizations and hospitals had to mitigate to triage do to limit on rescources. X number of beds y number of needs y was much greater than x hence death was the balance until x became more than y.

Have a surge of cases over 1500. Hence the death toll will center where medical services are pushed the hardest to capacity. At some point availible services and needs will be breached and death toll go up exponitially to areas who are not at or near capacity.

If you take the statistics
New jersey California and Florida and Maryland
Have a surge of cases over 1500. Hence the death toll will center where medical services are pushed the hardest to capacity. At some point availible services and needs will be breached and death toll go up exponitially to areas who are not at or near capacity.
Say we take this slice of history article was published Dec 7 2020.
The dataset — which includes capacity reporting from hospitals in 2,200 counties in the U.S. — spotlights areas where hospitals are getting dangerously full. In 126 counties, the average hospital is at least 90% occupied, according to an analysis of the data by the COVID-19 Hospitalization Tracking Project. The states with the most counties above this threshold are Kentucky, Georgia, Minnesota, Oklahoma and Texas.
Kentucky Dec 3 rd had 61 a spike deaths seven day avg was 29. Seven day avg but if you focus on just where hospitalised were over whelmed the vast majority centers in these clusters the cluster can than mutate a patient that is resistant and this leads to a incantation that become more infective.

Your dense. It's hard for you to grasp the concept.
Some how disease and infection is illusion.
Somehow this disease covid 19 is not like any other. Covid 19 kills. Without prejudice remorse or conflict of contious it dines off the carcus.
Where infection rates spiked death rates spiked.
This was determined by hospital inpatient records.
If hospital a became over whelmed humans were dying on the floor .
Somehow this twists to the most populated areas.
No because the cluster variant mutations. When a cluster infection was recognized they recognized the possibility of a south African Brazilian or by York variant emerging. One that was treatment resistant.
So far effect rate of Pfizer and Moderna has maintained 80 to 90 percent meaning of you get the vaccine getting the disease is much more unlikely
However even with Johnson and Johnson vaccine included if you get the vaccine your chances of dying from the infection is not a significant digit to calculate. Less than. 000001 or one in a million ...
Possibly a billion at this point.
Biden administration is pushing 2 million doses of vaccine I to the arms of humans here in the usa.
And the numbers of cases and deaths has decreased significantly. At a point it will be zero new infections. At this pace that will happen around June 2 of 2021.
No new infections In America.
