There has been a total of 2,000 deaths for people under the age of 29 in the US 

Now California is better than Florida in covid statistics according to updates by Center for disease control.  Florida 9512 cases and 156 deaths per 100,000.  California 9061 cases and 148 deaths per 100,000.  Florida is the epicenter of new covid variant.  In week of march 22, Florida has 12th highest infection rate and 17th highest death rate.  Some mayors are reimposing mask mandates. 

Although Florida is faring better than some states, that doesn't necessarily mean lack of restrictions deserve credit for better covid statistics.  Other things such as warm weather allowing for outdoor dining reduce risk of virus spread.  Some  states with strong restrictions perform better than some states with weak restrictions.

I don't think brother tox was ever making the point that lack of restriction was better for covid, specifically. He's saying, "Look, Florida never shut down. They're doing just as good as some states that did. Even better than some."

156 and 148 per 100,000 is basically a tie 

Florida achieved that number while being open 

California achieved their number while being shut down 

Anyone with an ounce of common sense would take Florida’s guidelines and results over California’s.

Heard the governor on the radio today say that in the older population (65 and older) 40 states ranked worse than Florida. 

Florida's low covid numbers were achieved under safety restrictions in 2020.  Humid air and less overcrowding in homes help reduce virus spread.  After easing restrictions in October, covid cases surge.  Now tests reveal Florida has 9th highest positivity rate while California has the lowest positivity rate according to John Hopkins university.  Florida is US epicenter of covid variants.  Also covid death rate is lower in California.  If Florida has California death rate, thousands of Floridians would still be alive.  DeSantis response to pandemic has been a disaster. 

Isn't a known fact that DeSantis has been doing everything he can to lie about Florida's numbers since the winter? Tox must be living under a rock. Florida's numbers look decent because the governor is concealing information and lying to the public about cases and deaths.

Michigan has had more recorded COVID deaths in the last 5.5 months (since election day) than the previous 7 months going back to April 1st.

Michigan now leads the nation in COVID positives per day regardless of population. (New York, Florida, Texas, all 3x bigger)

Downtown Detroit's Ford Field was setup as a vaccination site to help serve Detroit. 13 thousand were vaccinated, only 13.8% were black, 72.3% were white. Guess needing an ID was a problem here too? Why weren't Detroiters signing up??????? Louis Farakhan?? Who knows?

So now news outlet MLIVE says "Whites (rest of MI) took advantage of vaccinations at Ford Field". Then followup with an article on the mostly white populated "thumb" of Michigan saying the people of the thumb are ignoring COVID and mandates. Yet, the lower inner city counties have the biggest surge of COVID now. Hmmmm. No focus there.

The study, released on Saturday, compared almost 400 people who had tested positive for COVID-19, 14 days or more after they received one or two doses of the vaccine, against the same number of unvaccinated patients with the disease. It matched age and gender, among other characteristics.

But among patients who had received two doses of the vaccine, the variant's prevalence rate was eight times higher than those unvaccinated - 5.4% versus 0.7%.

IF you go through state by state from Oct 1 to Jan 1 you will see that restrictions didn't do a damn thing. The virus takes it's course and IF we can slow it down, say maybe by 10%, we are lucky. 

I could say; Oh Yeah, Florida's over 65 population is 20.5% and California is only 11%

Then you can say; Oh Yeah, hispanics are hit harder than most races and California is 39% and Florida is only 24%.

Oh wait, what about the obese???  How about population density, gotta factor that in! Mind boggling.

Compare Florida to New York, New Jersey, or maybe Michigan.

Not at all, I agree. Lack of restrictions means more freedom for people to CHOOSE, that's it. More chances of living a "normal" life.

I truely believe, even in Michigan, that the virus just takes it's course, moving like a winding stream, and when it hits hard then react with isolations, temporary shutdowns, etc. We can't prevent it totally, only react to it. I really don't blame MI gov. Whitmer for the current outbreak, it just happens. How we react is what matters.

It's done we can not keep up with the variants at this pace the only way forward is herd immunity and hope for the best.

The vaccines will not prevent the infection but mitigate risk of death upon exposure. The latest numbers coming from 1st world countries in Europe 500000 infected in France Germany 100000 new current infections. 

We now after the collasal failure of the Trump administration and blundering idiots in charge of manufacturing a distributing the vaccine has rendered it completely useless.

Those who have received both doses of Pfizer are now infected by the South African strain. At 5.7 percent. If not vaccinated it represents 1 percent of all infections

This strain is mutating to different variables in the France and German strains are represented as the South African cluster variants grand children. The future mutations after this fourth wave will by all views become more deadly more infections and more resistant to treatment or vaccines.
