So, A democratically elected president is deposed via a Coup and the ruling military Junta is Mass Murdering the religious groups that supported the president, and it is still hard to decide if we should prop up their military dictatorship in their genocide? Or their government (lol)  with 1.3 Billion taxpayer dollars? 

And the American people are still on the fence?

 

Hmmmm.

It depends on the meaning of the word coup is..according to this administration it is a non-coup coup..

Four more state-of-the-art F-16 fighter jets left the U.S. yesterday headed for Egypt as part of a foreign aid ..The new shipment brings the total number of F-16 jets given to Egypt this year to 12.

In addition, the U.S. government also paid at least $83 million to upgrade facilities and provide training at the Egyptian military's "Cairo West Air Base" to accommodate the new F-16s.
 
As bad as this is ..do we even have a Congress of the United States anymore?

Here what part of our $1.3 billion in annual military aid it supplies to Egypt pays for ..

The US military needs Egypt for access to critical areas..

During the past year, more than 2,000 U.S. military aircraft flew through Egyptian airspace, supporting missions in Afghanistan and throughout the Middle East, according to U.S. Central Command..

About 35 to 45 U.S. 5th Fleet naval ships pass through the Suez Canal annually, including carrier strike groups..Egypt has allowed U.S. warships to be expedited, which often means getting to the head of a very long line of ships waiting for access to the canal.

If Egypt cut off its airspace and canal access, the U.S. military would face heavier costs and much longer transit times as it positions troops and equipment in the Middle East..

so, since the muslim brotherhood leader Mohammed Badie was arrested early Tuesday morning, we now have decided to "halt" aid. Just odd timing i guess.

It's just a coincidence Capt.   Egypt's military forms a non-coup coup to over-throw the democratically elected President of the country and aid continues ..but when the military arrest Mohammad Badie the Muslim Brotherhood leader the aid stops..

A coincidence,,, I say.

We need to realize that most of these countries need a dictator to keep the barbarians at bay. The Dulles brothers managed to destroy the best shot for a vibrant democracy outside of Israel in that cesshole and got an airport named for them.

Rick, the really galling thing is that we keep repeating the same "mistake" over and over. From mossadeq we moved on to arbenz and allende, tonkin to the taliban... Most of this horseshit in the name of anti communism, yet when that ideology met its inevitable demise, our meddling sadly did not. First help saddam gas the people who are still a bit poed about that whole shah thingy, then when the twisted fuck becomes uncontrollable depose his ass, Mubarak, thanks for your years of hard work oppressing your savages, lates.
