I was responding to your post, specifically about DOGE. You're not wrong & neither am I. Our gov't. has kicked the can down the road to the point where our debt has snowballed something fierce, & it was gonna take something drastic to start to right the ship. In such a case there are always gonna be detractors & pissed off people. Had Biden tried this I'm sure he would've gotten heat too, but mostly from the libs in his own party. WE ALL KNOW changes are needed, & in some cases they'll be hated. But it had to start somewhere.
The cursing/crying/singing bad songs by some members of Congress is laughable, & helps nothing. They need to grow up or get out of gov't.

I'm starting to think this is a bigger deal than we know. The acts of desperation by the libs says it all.

@Midnight1 Do you realize Muskrat looked like a fool again when he claimed people 150 years old were still getting Social Security? What do you mean? He was not saying they were 150 years old, just that they would have been if they were still alive--because they were obviously dead.. This has been going on for a very long time. This is not new. They have always found this to be happening. I remember some years back when a lady was still 'collecting' from someone that had been dead for 25-30 years. No doubt at all that there is a large amount of fraud going on.
I agree SS fraud is rampant but let me explain this if I can...
SS runs on COBOL (believe it or not) & it doesn't use a date or time type. So the date is stored as a number using the ISO 8601 standard. The epoch for this is 150 years old (1875) aka the metre standard which identifies records & fields of the data. If you don't know the date of something, it will be a 0 (zero) value which in COBOL is 1875 or 150 years ago.
His techs interpreted a COBOL error code of 150 to be actual "people" still receiving SS.
Finally, if Musk had any proof of someone 150 years old (which is ridiculous on its face) receiving SS, he most certainly would have produced it. He would have been better off identifying "real"SS fraud of those still receiving checks of deceased family members. He could have arranged FOX cameras to capture the drama when agents broke down doors & arrested the culprits.
Instead he decided to peddle this bullshit to the press & they printed his claims.

I know the one out there in Texas would have been well over 100. If they had not caught the lady, by now that one would maybe be close to 130 or 140. That was like in the early 2000s I think.
Amazing they using COBOL -- I had not heard that!

They're obviously a bit classier than the dems, who seem to live for drama. The fact that they're resisting so hard on these well-needed audits kind of proves my point.
The IRS one ought to be interesting....

How come there is not one Democrat in office that wants our government to be more efficient ? A sarcastic question to my Republican friends, but a real one to any Democrat on this board that wishes to take a stab at this...

That's actually funny. Young computer nerds meet ancient programming. That is the issue with transparency, sometimes your initial conculsions leave egg on your face.
No birthdate?? Hmmm.
Microsoft decided years ago their start year was 1900. Idiots there thought 1900 was a leap year. Messed up day of the week until they patched it. I ran into that on Excel in year 2000.

It's a mindset. Dems like to expand government, especially federal it seems. Biden increased federal employees and Trump is all out reversing it at warp speed. I don't agree with it all, firing of some inspector generals with over 20 years of service is something I question. Have myself been in positions where you knew what your doing is inefficient, you say so, and then are told that's the way we do it and have been doing it so shutup and keep doing it our way. OK.
Bettcha a lot of these folks in same boat.
And sure Dems want to be part of the decision making, not spectators. IMO, what they should be doing is pointing out Repub pork projects and screaming cut those. Thinking that will be coming next after all the singing stops.

Why do you question this one?
There are the very ones at the top that are in charge of investigating waste, fraud and inefficiency. They get paid a lot of money to do this. Quite obviously, they have been failing to do their jobs.
Just curious why you question them being fired?

Guess no republicans have a problem with musk holding a meeting with Prime Minister Modi of India in the white house by himself. Musk have business dealings with India and hes holding meetings in white house. This is no wrong on so many levels. Clear violation of the logan act. Yup no conflict of interest there. When they asked trump why musk was having a meeting with modi, Trump said he didnt know. Right there tells you all you need to know. Musk is in total control of our country and trump is just the face of the Presidency. Musk bought the country for 250 million and now hes gonna do whatever the fuck he wants.
Am sure the nutty magas wont say a word about this and will say nothing wrong with musk having meetings with foreign leaders in the white house. MUSK WAS NOT ELECTED TO THE WHITE HOUSE, AND HAS NO BUSINESS MEETING WITH FOREIGN LEADERS.
I just hope some republicans wake up before its too late and put an end to this musk power grab

Here's an audit ALL Americans should want Musk and DOGE to do ...........
.Elon Musk wants to crack open Fort Knox and audit the gold at lest take a look inside Fort Knox just to make sure the 4,580 tons of US gold is there....
The first tour of the facility came in 1974 when journalists and a Congressional delegation were allowed in following claims the stores had been looted. The vaults were opened again in 2017, during the last Trump administration, for Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin to view them.( viewing is not an audit)....need a hands on audit ..all that glitters is not gold....
Fort Knox is heavily fortified. The US government claims that the precious metal bullion’s structure and content are “known by only a few” and “no one person knows all the procedures to open the vault.”
Lets hope there is more in there than Al Capone's' vault that Geraldo Rivera opened...

It is looking more and more likely that this is not the complete story. But something someone posited and folks jumped aboard. Several COBOL guys say this is not an automatic date, that it would have to be programmed that way.

During World War II, Fort Knox was used to safeguard the Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence and Constitution. The founding documents were returned to Washington, DC, when the war concluded....
Wonder how many people .at that time who were taking the document in and then out ...stuffed a few gold bars into there pockets...
Maybe the DOGE audit will show a loss of gold bars.......
