"Imagine if we spent 40 billion on veterans." This is a tweet from Madison Cawthorn.
I'm all for taking care of our veterans but realistically the VA budget alone last year was $270 Billion and President Biden has requested an increase of $31 Billion this year for a total of $301 Billion.
Since Cawthorn is on the Veteran’s Committee, I assume he would know that.

We also have the Baker Act in Florida which allows judges, law enforcement & health care professionals deem a person dangerous to themselves or others. They can be held for 72 hours & possibly be released after a mental evaluation. Sometimes it works & helps diffuse a situation but can also light the fuse of the mentally ill.
I think it's a good law that should be implemented elsewhere.
