We also have the Baker Act in Florida which allows judges, law enforcement & health care professionals deem a person dangerous to themselves or others. They can be held for 72 hours & possibly be released after a mental evaluation. Sometimes it works & helps diffuse a situation but can also light the fuse of the mentally ill. I think it's a good law that should be implemented elsewhere.

Rayla Campbell, Massachusetts GOP nominee for Secretary of State, tells Mass Republican convention that teachers in the commonwealth are "telling your 5-year-old that he can go and suck another 5-year-old’s dick."
Her 5 year old probably learned that type of language in her home.

Fair question. The answer is a tiny fraction.

Racist AZ Republican Senate hopeful Blake Masters acknowledges that the US has a gun violence problem. But he also has a theory about why there’s a problem— "it’s Black people, frankly.”
It’s unclear why Masters—who has pushes the baseless “great replacement” conspiracy theory narrative— felt compelled to single out Black people. But Masters, whom the white nationalist website VDARE fêted last year as an “immigration patriot,” was quite clear about his vision of two Americas...
“When they ban ‘ghost guns’ and pistol braces, that’s all about disarming law-abiding people, like you and me, that’s what it’s about,” Masters said.
Blake Masters, backs a national abortion ban, claims Democrats want to “import a million people every year to replace Americans who were born here,” has said that the media and big tech “conspired to manipulate the 2020 election”—which he claims “Trump won”— and calls the gender pay gap a “left-wing narrative.”

After Greene says Adam Schiff is her least favorite Member of Congress, Gaetz says: “I would rather give Nancy Pelosi a sponge bath than endure one dinner with Adam Schiff .. I would trim her toenails with my teeth before I would have dinner with Adam Kinzinger, err Adam Schiff.”
I don't know which one is more disgusting.
High school juveniles. This is your GOP.

Washington Commanders Defensive Coordinator Jack Del Rio says there are “two standards” between Black Lives Matter protests and January 6th: “We have a dust-up at the Capitol, nothing burned down, and we’re gonna make that a major deal.”
A dust up???
I liked Jack until he just showed his ignorance.

One difference is that one of those events wasn't promoted by the president of the United States,to overturn the election that he lost.

One was promoted and encourage by one political party and was never shunned by the same party. One of those events lasted months, happened in dozens of cities around the US, caused mass destruction to property owned by tax paying Americans, cost livelihoods to tax paying citizens. One also set a precedent for groups of people and can be related to the rising crime rates we see on a daily basis. Hence, go check out SF.

People have been arrested & gone to prison for property damage done during the Floyd protests. Plenty of them. Republican "whataboutism" doesn't work here because they were both wrong. Except 1/6 was a national embarrassment to this country and a black eye to the rest of the world. And was led by a trader President that has yet to be arrested.

A "dust-up at the Capitol" and "nothin' burned down" is so on-brand Republican Fascist Gaslighting. I've seen quite a few "dust-ups" without 5 people dying. Weird huh? I think Jack is one helmet short of a huddle..

Oh ya? Police still searching for all the smash and grabs from high end luxury stores? What about all the current smash and grabs, thefts from stores, beatings on the streets? Is there still a witch-hunt to catch every single one of them?
The months long of destruction wasn't an embarrassment in the eyes of the world while everyone was supposed to be locked inside, wearing their masks while showering and driving alone? Guess that was nothing and didn't cause any tension in Americans.

I really HOPE there is a red wave this election!!!!
Both chambers!!!!
Then, I should PROFIT about $30,000(depending on the odds in October)
*Because I will be betting HEAVILY on the Republicans to win (the opposition party nearly always wins in the first mid-term of a new president) which I have been saying repeatedly for over 1.5 years in multiple threads - the only way I LOSE, and it would really make me suffer a massive blow financially - is if somehow the unexpected happens, and the Dems retain majorities.
THAT would hurt me......BIGLY!!
I'm all in for winning mega-PROFIT!!!

If everyone is armed loaded and carrying a concealed weapon nobody will be shot....
This worked out so well way back when.
Wild West" annual murder rate of 165 per 100,000 was more than 15 times higher than a "city" rate of 10 per 100,000 around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. In absolute numbers, that would translate hypothetically into 16.5 murders a year in Tombstone, versus 50 murders per year for say, Chicago's 500,000 residents around 1880. Another poster pointed out that the average for Tombstone was closer to 10 per year, relative to a peak population of 10,000, which would still be high.
165 per 100000
When gun ordinances were I acted it fell to 10 in 100000.
