The army won't march with anyone since the country is just about split
in half between people wanting Morsi to stay and others wanting him to
leave. The army can't march with protesters because there are 2 groups
of comparable numbers.
Another country that doesn't deserve an ounce of my tax paying income..
But what the fu ck are you going to do right??

Now that there is a Democratically elected president. How do you guys feel now that the military is thought to be planning a coup of an elected govt?
I guess a Coup is still a conspiracy theory at this point.
but it hurts no one to be forward looking.
Who will the Americans back since we seem to have a need to have a dog in every fight?
If the past is any indication, the Obama administration will be supporting the will of the Egyptian people whether or not it advanced American interests.
Haig and Reagan would be turning over in their graves.

Looks like the Military is taking over because the people have become disillusioned after the Muslim brotherhood promised them so much and delivered so little.
Scarily reminiscent of what is going on in the US right now, so much promised, so little delivered

Why can't we pull this off against a corrupt as the day is long regime that breaks the law or refuses to follow the laws on the books at every turn? Mexico is probably pointing fingers at us saying how corrupt we are.
Are all you good dems out there watching whats transpiring in your country? Moron with the great healthcare plan wants to delay it, I guess because it so great? NSA, IRS, Healthcare scam, Bengazi cover-up, Fast & Furious, Amnesty for Illegals, Carbon Tax? What's it going to take for you to realize you've been scammed worse than the Egyptians?

On one hand, secularism
and freedom of religion have made the world a genuinely better place.
On the other hand, everything that could make Egypt a better place for
its people in the long term can only be accomplished with the rule of
law. Military coups tend to fall outside of what anyone would consider
rule of law. Plus, who's to say that at the end of this Egypt won't end
up governed by radical Islamists? Moreover, is a return to the sort of
military dictatorship Egyptians just overthrew, even a temporary one, a
move in the right direction?
For me, this whole thing raises far more questions than it gives
answers. I just hope it works out well for the Egyptian people.

The Egyptian people are protesting for a combination of problems..Morsi's disregard for religious freedom, corruption in the government ,higher gas and food prices and a slow economy..
Hmmmm...
At least the people in this nation are smart enough, after a year of misrule to correct the disastrous mistake that they made by electing him......while another country is not so smart.

Great point Slim! Our public is so stupid, a complete moron was re-elected to continue the downward spiral he presided over for 4 years.
I salute the Egyptians for forcing their "hope & change" only 1 year into their radical frauds presidency. At least they recognized making a mistake and did the right thing about it. Our entitlement society decided to double-down on this corrupt administration.

This actually gave me hope for Egypt. I know that this is just one boy, (a remarkable one at that), but he could be the future Thomas Jefferson of his country.

Really? History disagrees, Since WWII (where dictators were eliminated all over the world) I have seen and read about a lot of dictatorships turning into democracies, Eastern Europe, South East Asia, Africa, South America...
Egypt wasn't a democracy - they still think like they have for 50 years, the majority disregarding the minority (49%), A real democracy respects the minority.
And you don't become democratic in a year. Most Western countries have developed their democracies over periods of 70-100 years.

A real democracy ignores the Minority. A pure democracy is majority rule.
Egypt needs a Republic founded on individual rights. They can not get that with Radical Islamists at the table. A constitution that defers anything to the Koran is a joke.
Egypt needs a solid Constitution before they attempt Democratic Elections.
