Colorado : Cory Gardner defeats Mark Uterus ..........
Gardner won partially because he went back on some of his extreme positions such as abortion, birth control and I hope he stays this way. Hopefully, it will give others in the Party the strength to stand up against the extreme section within the Party.

Udall ran a one-issue campaign....and even with Hillary campaigning for him in support of woman issues couldn't save him..

I think the GOP played it smart this time around by not waging an attack on one their many wars on women, immigrants, minorities, homosexuals etc.... just stuck to the bash the president song dance so that they dont have to stand for anything...
the goal was not to get people to vote for them but to get the opposition to stay home... and it worked... who would have thought less drama was the key...lol
perhaps its a strategy for the GOP to consider in the future as their raging emotional drama queen strategy hasnt seemed to work so well other then getting their own base in to a tizzy other the next prescribed irrationl temper tantrum

If anyone was bashing Obama it was Mark Udall not Gardner . Back in Sept. Barack Obama came to Colorado and had a fundraiser for Udall in his home state ..axing Democrats to throw their support and their money behind Udall /...but Udall skipped the fundraiser because he didn't want to be seen on the same stage as the President ..now that's a bash ..
Cory Gardner ran a campaign that was pro-life vs.Uterus's pro-abortion..Gardner also opposed same-sex marriage...supported the repeal ObamaCare reporting requirements for small business..and signed the No Climate Tax Pledge..and limited government...issues that it looks like the people of Colorado support..

For instance, Gardner went back on his extreme position on abortion two weeks after launching his Senate campaign and was blasted by Personhood org. of some kind and that's not the only thing he went back on. No, I don't mean the race was decided by single issue and it's probably a pretense.
What I am saying is a Republican doesn't have to take extreme positions on issues to get elected and I hope others can see that, too.
The Party of every President since Reagan had lost seats on Congress when he left office...

Bunny ,I can understand why Gardner would flip-flop on some issues ..since he was originally a Democrat....but,, I can agree with you.. Republican candidates don't need to take extreme positions on issue to get elected ..just strong conservative positions like personal responsibility, limited government, American style free markets, individual liberty, traditional American values and a strong national defense.

More good news..for Republicans another nail in Harry Reids coffin..
Republican U.S. Senate candidate Dan Sullivan defeated Sen. Mark Begich, the Democratic incumbent, in Alaska’s U.S. Senate race Wednesday ( in 2009 Sullivan was appointed attorney general by former Gov. Sarah Palin.)........ the win that gives the GOP eight Senate pickups in the midterm elections.
The Republican Party also is seeking a ninth seat in Louisiana’s runoff in December.
