Most of the 10 poorest states in the country are Republican. Mississippi is the poorest... followed by Arkansas, Tennessee, West Virginia, Louisiana, Montana, South Carolina, Kentucky, Alabama and North Carolina.
Some of the stats are fun though.
Want to know what there is a higher correlation with?

You couldn't be more wrong about Montana. (not surprising) Both Senators and the governor are democrats. That will change when a republican is elected to one of those senate seats today. That is because his opponent turned out to be a fraud.
Two things in Montana will allow you to run and have a shot at winning. strong supporter of the 2nd amendment and Keystone lover. I know, I know the dems hate these 2 things but the party gives them a pass on supporting them so they can get elected. It seems to be working for the most part. As I said, if the dem nominee didn't turn out to be a fraud and got forced out of the race this state would still be up for grabs.

The highest paying private sector jobs in Montana are mining jobs. Dems hate mining. The only thing that rivals those jobs are gov't jobs in Montana. Dems love those. I dunna know, you do the math.

Such a weird dynamic. It happens here in WV too. Unions supported Obama, and miners around here vote with the unions.
Now that they are all unemployed they have more time to read up on the issues. Definitely think that is why WV is going Red.

@ Sundance if Walker wins I think he is the GOP's best candidate. Conservative enough to win a primary but not Ted Cruz/Rand Paul where you polarize the masses. I think he wins by about 2% tonight.

The Associated Press declared Scott the winner Tuesday night with nearly all precincts reporting. He held nearly 49 percent of the vote to the Tan Man's nearly 47 percent. ...Yep the KOD ..

Vice President Joe Biden on Tuesday predicted that Democrats would maintain control of the Senate and emerge from the midterm elections with a majority of 52 seats.....

No Fluke ...........Sandra Fluke ( person) was defeated by fellow Democrat Ben Allen in a race, in the liberal haven of West L.A.to fill the 26th district seat being vacated by incumbent Democrat Ted Lieu..

I'm saying GOP +7 in the Senate, GOP +5 in the House and Dems +4 governors.
Looks like you under estimated across the board. Really close to your call in the Senate, but I'm shocked at how well the Republicans did in the Gov. races. I thought they'd lose Florida and Kansas and didn't think they had much of a shot in Illinois given how blue that state is.
Stay disciplined and manage your bankroll

Yep you are correct, really didn't see it this bad. I thought Udall and hagan would hang on but didn't. I'm shocked about the MD Gov race. Didn't even know that was competitive. Dems botched it in Florida as Scott narrowly prevails again. The House is so hard to predict but several races that didn't look like they were on the radar went south.
