idk, the last time the GOP passed a tax bill they gave me the biggest tax hike of a lifetime. Not sure I can afford more GOP policies that have me subsidizing failing red welfare states

Democrat Maura Healey has become the first female governor in Massachusetts and the nation's first openly lesbian governor & replace the well respected Charlie Baker.

There aren't many Republican politicians I like but losing Charlie & Larry Hogan hurts the country IMO.

When there are more voting restrictions, voters have to overcome more adversity to vote.  Some people don't vote if they see a long lineup of voters.  If they adapt or are motivated enough, voters turnout might not decline.  If they fail or don't care, risk of voters turnout declining.  Since some people only vote if mandatory, punishment may be necessary as a last resort to increase turnout. 

One myth is that delay in announcing election results indicate voting fraud.  Normally, unofficial results are announced on election night.  But complete results may not be known until days or weeks later for several reasons.  Every state has different counting procedures.  Some states count mail-in ballots when received later if post office dated on election day or earlier.  If election results are too close, this may require recounting or runoff election.  Voting machines are usually faster and more accurate than hand counting by humans.

Fetterman's win is a Democratic gain.  It's likely that the Democrats will maintain Senate control.

US electoral system is too costly in time and money.  Other countries impose limits on spending and time for campaigning.  "Winner takes all" creates more polarization and big money means more corruption.  However most stable democracies have a parliament system which encourages cooperation among different parties.  If top party fails to get enough votes, it must ally with lesser party to form government.
