Stocks perform better when a Democrat is in the White House. -- History proves it!
September 23
New York. President Trump has warned of economic and financial Armageddon if Joe Biden and the Democrats retake the White House next year. But history paints a very different story.
Both the stock market and the real economy tend to do better when Democrats, NOT REPUBLICANS, are in charge!
Since 1945, the S&P 500 has averaged an annual gain of 11.2% during years when Democrats controlled the White House, according to CFRA Research. That's well ahead of the mere 6.9% average gain under Republicans.
"The market does do better under Democratic presidential control," said Sam Stovall, chief investment strategist at CFRA Research.

Those stats r as worthless as the paper they are written on as there are way too many intervening factors to give credit to 1 president over the other . There is at least a three Month lag for both the start and end of an administration .... is this factored in. Further, did the president have control of both houses, one etc. I saw a stat where when the presidentS party had control of both houses the repubs outperform the Dems in terms of stock prices. U can skew the stats anyway u want. Bottom line Presidents, including Trump and Obama, have little effect on the stock market

The divide is even more pronounced in the earliest days of a new administration:
During the first year of a Democratic presidential term, the S&P 500 has climbed an average of 16.7%,
compared with 0.4% for Republicans.
That's despite Trump comments like "Our record setting stock markets would literally CRASH!" (via a tweet last month) and "If Joe Biden ever got in, I think you'd have a depression the likes of which we have never seen in this country."

Ten of the last 11 recessions began under GOP rule
But while Republicans used to be viewed as the more business-friendly of the two major parties, economic growth is significantly slower under GOP rule.
* Since 1945, GDP grew by an average of 4.1%under Democrats, compared with 2.5%under Republicans, according to CFRA.
That's partially because many economic expansions have died during Republican administrations.
Ten of the last 11 recessions, going back to the 1950s, started during a GOP-run White House. The only exception was President Jimmy Carter

Blaming Bush for the 2001 recession is idiotic on its face as the primary cause was the bursting of the dot com bubble . Same w blaming the clown for the Covid effects. This information is worthless . Kind of like blaming Obama for the entire debt cuz most of it accumulated during his admin

U want useless stats ok here it is. So I guess according to yur rationale of citing useless stats we just need to flip the house for trump. Gmab
Contrary to popular belief that equities perform better under a divided government, Colas’s data show the opposite is true. In the eight years in the post-war period that Republicans controlled Congress and the White House, the S&P 500 on average returned 16%. In the 22 years that Democrats had total control, the benchmark returned an average 14.3%.

Fubah2 is right. Moody analytics examine 4 possible outcomes of November elections. The best outcome for US economy would be a democrat sweep of white house and congress. Greatest improvement in employment and economic growth expected because Biden plans to spend trillions on infrastructure, education and social safety net while boosting international trade and immigration. Higher taxes proposed to fund plans wouldn't harm US economy in a meaningful way. However a republican sweep would be the worst outcome for US economy because of Trump's proposed stimulus plans, greater trade tensions and cuts to immigration.

And what did he say bout Trump in 2016 . at best , “Employment barely budges in the first two years, and over his four years as president just over 2.8. Million. And yet Trump actually created 6.7 million over just 3 years . Gmab y’all r nothing but lefty cheerleaders

Yur way off. 2 many variables. I just cited when repubs control all 3 they do better than when Dems control all 3. I meaningless statement after another. Presidents have very little control over stock market , its the fed.

I would expect that especially from the fallout of the 2008 economic collapse under the last GOP admin... and now it's happening again.

History shows America does ‘far better’ economically when a Democrat is in the White House: analyst
Simon Rosenberg of the liberal think tank NDN, explained that there is statistical proof that Americans prosper under Democratic presidents. The traditional view of the major political parties is that Republicans, as the party of big business — are stronger on economics, but hard numbers don’t show that to be true.
According to a presentation Rosenberg has prepared that uses numbers dating back to 1989, “The economy does better—far better— when we have Democratic presidents.
In terms of job creation, median income, health care, and yep, even the stock market, the economy does better—the American people do better—under Democratic presidents. By a mile!”

gdp is the common but broad standard for assessing the strength of an economy . theres more of course , particularly debts .but in one single stat that says more than any other single stat so its intersting to see the economy under dems performs far better by almost 65% than when repos rule

It’s meaningless “rule“ is that pres, sen, house. If one pres can’t get thru his legis, than it’s apples and oranges to compare by whether pres had an r or a d. It also doesn’t consider the lag factor or outside factors. U mentioned debt, that is far and away the most serious “economic problem”. Well which president doubled the debt during his presidency. That would be Obama, So I guess by yur metrics he must be the worst president in managing the economy . The three most effectI’ve presidents in managing the economy during my lifetime were Kennedy, Reagan, and Clinton. Two D’s , and 1 R, but all three much more conservative than what the Dems are espousing today. So again, if were using yur metrics I should vote for the more conservative candidate and not 2hether they have a d or an r by their name
