FTX billionaire Sam Bankman-Fried funneled dark money to Republicans
The fall of crypto billionaire Sam Bankman-Fried has been painted as a big blow to the Democratic party, whose candidates were major beneficiaries of his largesse. But in a new interview, Bankman-Fried has claimed he gave equally large amounts of money to Republicans.
“I donated to both parties. I donated about the same amount to both parties,” Bankman-Fried told the crypto commentator and citizen journalist Tiffany Fong.
“All my Republican donations were dark,” he said, referring to political donations that are not publicly disclosed.

Of course the GOP gladly accepted those millions of dollars to try and keep the criminal Trump in power. Don’t hold your breath for those criminals to return any of those donations to the poor innocent investors who the GOP is always happy to defraud!

He also said FTX "is fine" so what does that tell ya about what this guy says. He also says "donated". What he really means is "embezzled". MIT graduate should know the difference, right?
Gee, that’s cute. Earlier you godless hypocrites seized on everything he said that made Blue Team look bad. Now you suddenly pretend it has no cred! That’s why Red Team/Blue Team politics are so toxic.
Instead, focus on the policies suggested by each candidate and vote accordingly. Trump had no policies other than “brown people bad” and “cut corporate taxes” and “increase inflation with tariffs.” Unless you’re a racist or a billionaire, those aren’t real policies that serve anyone’s interests. That’s why it’s always shocking (no, disappointing) to see so many dotards willing to grovel and lick his boots.

FTX does not equal Trump. Try to stay on topic.
FTX did not say he donated tens of millions to the left, it's shown on records, ya know, facts. FTX "said" he gave as much to the republicans (have you seen the proof other than what he "said"?). See the difference? He "said" he wanted to create a business so he could "donate" to more charitable causes. Well, he did that. Only he didn't "donate", he embezzled money (which he "said" he didn't know he was doing ) and then gave it away. That money was his clients money that was never used to purchase what his exchange was supposed to be buying and holding. Where did Trump come from? You really must go to bed and wake up thinking about Trump huh?

Winning points. It's hard to argue with those facts

I saw an interview, he never said he donated to Republicans. Must be a convenient addition to his 'story', urged on by corrupt team Joe.

Of course he donated to both parties, that is what most all corps do so they can cover their bets in any scenario. It is not often that a corp who needs government freebies and services will side only with one party unless a single party controls it all and that rarely happens.
He mentioned the dark money comment during his interviews, I think the conservatives are trying to avoid this admission because what is there to partisan whine about if it is acknowledged?

Yep because dark money does not exist if it is against the agenda of your partisan stories right?
Corps want advantage and access, it is rare you do not see a large corp play all sides, I found it humorous how that communist blog ZH ran the front story when it was a DEM bashing opportunity but when he commented further there was ZERO mention...rightttttt

Yeah, I’m sorry for calling you out on your hypocrisy and urging you to actually look at politicians’ policy positions instead of playing red team/blue team.
And your reply is … an insult. This is why Trumpsters can’t be taken seriously. You have no policies, no substance, just empty talking points that are easily disproven.
Grow up, grow a pair, then maybe the adults in the room will let you sit at the table like a big boy.

lol. SBF also said that FTX is fine before they filed for bankruptcy. Did you forget to read that? It's purely comical you can take this guys word as truth. Key word being his "word", and not the actual facts of his balance sheets. He's still saying he thinks FTX is fine and could reopen, what a F'n clown show he is and anyone who believes a word he says is just as big a clown, including you. Go learn how to read a balance sheet before saying everything SBF says is truthful. Yes, he might have donated just as much to the right, I never denied that. But where is the proof? His word? Please provide it. The guy siphoned clients deposits, gave them IOUs and funneled the money to Alameda Research. Not too difficult to understand that.
The guy is on a media trip trying to claim "he didn't know" so of course he's going to say shit to make him look good. But keep believing this guy while all the info continues to come out. You'll still look like a

SBF tweet on Nov 7th - "A competitor is trying to go after us with false rumors. FTX is fine. Assets are fine.”
Nov 11th FTX files for bankruptcy
You're a sucker if you believe anything this guy says. Nov 7th he thinks FTX is fine. Hands over their balance sheet to Binance to review before a take over. Takes Binance less then 2 hours to discover how illiquid FTX actually is. SBF ran this company for years, always thinking they were solvent. Binance uncovers the fraud in less then 2 hours. Again, you're a sucker if you believe a word this guy says. Also, his parents are registered democrats. His parents accepted ill gotten houses (and most likely money) in the Bahamas and also donated millions to the DNC.
SBF says he also donated to the GOP but it was dark money. Which likely means he also donated more "dark" money to the DNC as he was quoted saying he wanted to "donate" up to 1 billion dollars (which was never profits, it was all customers funds that were never used to purchase crypto).
Bankman-Fried’s public donations went largely to Democrats. The FTX founder gave more than $990,000 to candidates in the last election cycle, according to OpenSecrets, and another $38.8m to outside groups. Only about $235,000 of his public political giving went toward Republican candidates. - https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2022/nov/30/ftx-billionaire-sam-bankman-fried-dark-money-republicans

Yay another partisan complaint when in reality both parties get corporate cash, both parties equally take from large corps and unless your side is SPOTLESS which is impossible, this above message is a total waste of time.
Address the issue of campaign contributions and how corps try to game political favor not yet another GOP partisan crying reply.

Cool, show proof where the GOP received the same amount as the DNC in this FTX situation. Or are you also in the boat that believes everything SBF says is true? Don't be a sucker. Try to stay on topic WSC. I know you want to bash everyone from the right, do you ever do the same to the left?

Same is stupid word for partisan. The issue isnt how much one gets versus the other when BOTH take, you are either wet or dry not kinda wet or kinda dry. Instead of nit picking the nuances of who took more the focus should be on the fact corps buy politicians.
Are you as concerned that certain sectors fund GOP politicians more or is it just that this single event is the only issue worth considering?

If we started a thread for every donation ever made to any political party the threads would have 10k pages and would be so convoluted. The focus of the FTX situation is FTX alone. I don't give a damn what SBF says. People (on the left) can try to defend this d bag because "SBF says" all they want. The facts show where he contributed his clients money. So I'll stick to the facts for now. In time, maybe we find out he actually did "donate" the same amount to both parties. But until then, the facts say otherwise. If we took every idiots word as truth, we would be spinning in circles. I would be equally as pissed if SBF donated just as much to the GOP because none of the "donations" were actual profits and were considered charitable. Every dollar this d bag "donated" was stolen from clients and no politician is going to do a damn thing about it. Some have re-donated which is the right thing to do. It's pure theft right in front of our eyes and nobody in the govt is going (IMO, I hope I'm wrong and something does happen) to do a damn thing about it because they've been paid off.

You have to think a bit...why would that odd ball go the dark money route for the GOP donations?
Its pretty obvious to me, he felt the need to use the dark route and hide what he did because his parents are heavy DNC and likely many around him are the same, why else would he go a different path one vs another? And if you think he did not donate to the other party then you are not thinking as an exec of a large corp trying to gain advantage.
Of course he donated to your side, he hid it for personal reasons...

@BigGame90 WSC said to quit voting in junk like Trump, Biden, Clinton et etc. I don't think he likes the right or the left but at the same time, I don't recall him ever saying who he would recommend moving forward. @wallstreetcappers So, what say you?
NO, he just likes to try to silence anyone with a view from the right. Just from my view on who he likes to box and who he doesn't. Same content from both sides, only it seems one side gets punished more frequently.

Oh, I do believe he donated to both sides and could have very well used "dark" ways to give to the GOP which could have been less, equal or more than the DNC side. But facts say otherwise and I don't trust a word this guy has to say. He knew this time would come and he knows if he's paid both sides, that neither would want to go after him because he has info he can release. Buying his get out of jail free card. I am not upset about his donations, I am upset how he used clients funds to donate. Now the govt is going to give crypto a bad name all in the name of pushing CBDC. I'll be patiently waiting to see how this all plays out, but if it gets swept under the rug or nothing comes from this, then I would have lost most faith in our system all at the expense of "retail". Public now believes crypto is a bad idea, however they do not understand the blockchain and the benefits. FTX could play a major roll in govt take over of crypto and if the govt has been paid to look the other way, what does that say about corruption?
