I will be puking if the Moron-In-Chief picks Mr.Trickle-Down Kudlow to replace Gary...that would be a massive mistake.

This is tooo funny!   Gary Cohn was instrumental is getting the landmark tax cut plan passed in December...and all of the top Democrats in Congress denounced it along with all the liberals in this Forum.....Now they are all crying because he's gone.   What hypocrites...

 

Kudlow is a clown...his economic ideas while brighter than the dim-wit-in-chief are very very off and not what is needed. I dont think it would matter if Keynes were chosen, there will be no single person in that cabinet that has a chance to make decisions with the little ego in charge.

The American people are in charge. Trump is just trying to fulfill his campaign promises unlike the people you vote for.

Well, it looks like investors didn't dislike Cohn's resignation that much..as the Dow ended the day down only  -82...after being down over 300 points earlier today. The S&P 500 finished the day down just 0.05% at 2726.80.

As for the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite, it rose 0.3% to 7396.65, while the Russell 2000 rose a whopping 0.8% to 1574.67

I just listened to Roger Stone tell us why it ok for Cohn to step down. Stone was solid and he is hoping Steven Moore gets the position. We will not have economic Armageddon and we should have a better person replacing Cohn. This situation just might put more 'crumbs on kitchen tables across the US.

 

There were rumors mid day about waivers for
Canada and Mexico in the Tariff talks and that some
clarity would be forthcoming tomorrow causing the
markets to regain some of the early losses.
I'm hoping whomever is chosen to explain proposed
trade policy is capable of doing so in a way that
markets will understand going forward.

Looks like the tariff press conference and signing that
was scheduled for mid day tomorrow has apparently
been cancelled. Appears that policy may still not be
fully defined yet. Hope they get it right.

Well , now it looks like the meeting is on again.
c'mon guys make up you mind. There appears to be
a sign that temporary waivers are in place for
Canada and Mexico while NAFTA is being revisited.
No word on Europe which could be a more complex
problem.

Trump is talking of having tarriffs in place in 15 days.
Canada and Mexico ( and probably more ) countries
will be initially exempt. Still many details need to be
presented , especially to markets and investors.
While the initial plan sounds good , It's the backlash
from this that could be problematic.

Finally a President that keeps his promises to the American people. 

It will be interesting to hear the WTO's opinion of this.

It is my understanding that Canada and Mexico initially will not pay those tariffs...

The exemption for Canada and Mexico,will not be permanent or open-ended. The US is calling it a “security relationship” giving those two countries time to reach agreements on how to adjust their trading relationships with the US....

Now,,,,for all other countries, the tariffs will begin to be applied in 15-days...............

I'd rather like to know how many sealed incictments
out of EDVA there are with Trump's name on them.

So much for the stock market being down sharply at the beginning of the week .....because it ended the week up nearly 800 points at 25,335...Cohn resigning and the Trump Tariffs were only a speed bump in the road.............MAGA
