So much for the stock market being down sharply at the beginning of the week .....because it ended the week up nearly 800 points at 25,335...Cohn resigning and the Trump Tariffs were only a speed bump in the road.............MAGA
You just don't get it, do you. It's not about Cohn ,It's not about Trump announcing Tariffs. It's all about the repercussions arising from other Countries if and when they choose to retaliate, that will create the problems. Stock market will continue to go up until all of that happens , then , I wouldn't count on it.

I don't get it ? So I'm the one who doesn't get it, huh?
If it's not about Cohn ..why is the thread topic titled "Gary Cohn Resigns ?
..and in your first post you declare :
Gary Cohn , Trump's Economic Adviser has resigned , effective immediately.
Stock futures currently are down sharpley on the news.
This post can only imply, that the Stocks are down ...because Gary Cohn resigned..nothing else....quit trying to spin it...
Wiseguy36,you are a very confused individual..you stated one thing at first and as the events unfold during the week ,,you changed your reason for the thread......
One last question: You voted for Obama didn't you ?

FWIW , I posted this only to advise the Forum that with Cohn leaving , the potential for the US to become involved in a global trade war has increased by a significant amount. Trade wars can create a detriment to our Country's economic growth. Investors don't like it. Dow futures are saying that as they are down currently by 400 points or so.
I'm not here to debate politics with those who get their knowledge and / or opinion from the likes of Fox News or Russian bots.on Facebook or Twitter, as that is a complete waste of my time.
However , for the last time. a potential trade war can have serious consequences , and I think all should know that.
Good Luck
And You must be this Guy

That designates the topic is about Gary Cohn..and his resignation ..not the future reaction from other countries..
Look ,if you are not here to debate politics....why post in a Politics Forum?
Direct your Topic to the Investments Forum...
..and you don't need to answer my question about "O" ....not answering tells me exactly ,,who it was you voted for ....

Read my post # 10 again , maybe you'll understand what is says this time and maybe you'll stop showing your ignorance.
Post # 10 speaks for itself ( if I can borrow a line from the WH Press Secretary )

Wiseguy36 is right. Main concern is potential trade war harming economic growth worldwide. Many american jobs depend on exports. In the long run, protectionism produces more losers and winners.
Less important are higher prices for consumers and manufacturers. Stock market declines show loss of public confidence but fluctuations always occur over time.
Fortunately, exemptions are now allowed for Canada and Mexico - US largest trading partners. In special relationship, they contribute to US national security in north america.
