Time will tell. Why are democrats crying like little babies? Is it because their govt slush fund might run dry? Maybe Musk and Trump will actually hold people responsible so the govt funds are not wasted. How idiotic is it for our cities that they have to "spend it or lose it next year". Most of that spend it or lose it gets spent on useless shit while there's other work that needs to be done that gets pushed back. Maybe Trump should keep pushing EVs so we can continue the war in Ukraine, Democrats love that, right? Make the democrat voters upset with Russia and Trump while forcing EVs down everyone's throats which inevitability started the war in Ukraine so Russia can do what Ukraine isn't willing or capable of doing because we need more EVs in this world so we can stop it from warming. But shame on you Russia and Trump for being bad guys. Lets not look at the actual reason why Russia invaded and why Russia wants to control the land. Lets keep pushing "cLeAn EnErGy" and lets keep funding (dormant) Ukraine while wanting more clean energy. Drill baby drill.

@THEMUGG So what precisely has this admin done that is making things better? You chirp all this libs nonsense and so what has been done to this point that is improving the disaster that the libs created? Please do not suggest tariffs are going to bring more jobs here because that cost of tariff is paid for BY the US consumer, corporate impact is negligible and what will actually happen is if corps feel margin pinch they will lay off workers...keep that in mind.
The dream of every corporation coming back to the USA and making everything is way long gone and its just never gonna happen. People have gotten so used to paying for products that are cheap and thats because of the labor costs overseas. Our workers are never going to work for those types of wages, so making the products here will never be cheap.
Ronald Reagan(oh look another celebrity clown that was President) is the person that allowed corporations to go overseas, thus ruining the work production in the USA. In the past i have said every country should all make their own products in their own country(pipe dream) and only import things they arent capable of making or cant make enough.

Wallstreet.... I'll give it a shot alongside some third party text, although don't shoot the messenger here.....
"Trump uses chaos as a method. He is realizing his policy goals through chaos. And he is achieving them.
Trump had 3 main objectives as a preliminary to his phase 2 pro growth agenda. He wanted a lower $. He got the worst $ performance in the first 70 days of any year of the past 30 years!
He wanted a lower crude price. He so much got that ticked that he almost cost Andurand his fund…
He wanted lower rates. And this is where the biggest misunderstanding of his policies lies. He knows that the only way to reduce the deficit and curb the debt trajectory is through lower rates. Lower rates won’t realize without economic pain.
Economic pain is coming because Trump wants it."
That is his option to lower inflation AND refinance $9 trillion (growing) of US debt
Additionally….
High yield credit spreads are starting to blow out (credit event)
Homes will be next in line. We currently have the most new build homes on the market since….you guessed it, since the GFC. Builders are also delaying the COO’s on these homes so the numbers are actually much worse. Government subsidies have been delaying FHA foreclosures at record amounts. Fanny and Freddie same boat.
Consumer loans / credit cards & revolving credit are rolling over just like February 2020.
Carry trade worries still on the table, BOJ rate decision next week.
It is quite obvious the people Trump has surrounded himself with this time around, financially speaking, are quite the opposite from his first go around. If Trump is successful, he will have pulled the Volcker 2.0. Volcker took 18 months of absolute pain to the US before setting the table for decades of American prosperity and dominance. Will this administration pull off something similar? Perhaps. That, or perhaps they crash something much bigger….

Libs didnt really create the launch pad for EVs, ZIRP did that because without ZIRP your boy as I keep saying is pitching mutual funds to retirees, without ZIRP Tesla never gets to production scale, to me without it they do not survive. Their convert debt terms pre-ZIRP were brutal because of the risk and lack of production capabilities and without free debt access they would have run out of sources to capital.

Those are generalization marketing speak I can break every single one of these flim flam contentions and you know it.
Crude is going down as the stage is being set for global recession as you saw Europe scrambling you see Trump acting tough guy for many countries, these are recessionary deflationary precursors. Our production has not changed and how could it and what would Trump have done to change that anyway?
I know the flyer in the mail come and get a free steak at Outback stuff you posted, that is not details that you can quantify or extrapolate it is contentions of where they want you to think this will lead, not what it has done thus far.

really sad that maga posters on covers are russian defenders but not surprising. Must have putin posters hanging in his house.
I can see why Russia is not going to let Ukraine go forward with their intentions, the US invaded Cuba when we thought that Russia was going to put ops there so why is it a shock that Putin would rather take it back than let Ukraine even think they could consider items that they agreed to decades ago? Ukraine should never have started this and should have understood this would be how it would play out. I do not like people dying and Russia has a long history of playing these games of starving the enemy but in wnat universe did the US or Europe or NATO think that Russia would ever allow the path Ukraine was going down to continue?

I did not contend any of that is what has been "done thus far". I cannot predict the future, contrary to my Ukraine predictions and some of my other previous work here, but I can outline possible outcomes. Which is what that was speaking to. You know, something that is "possible" in the future. Just like I said crashing the global economy is the other "possible outcome". I'm looking at years to decades. Not what happens next month.
I'm not arguing here in favor of or against. We are literally talking ideas and concepts. You asked what foundation and change is quantifiable. As previously stated, its been 60 days. What, in your opinion, is of change (if any).
You cannot argue the approach here now in 2025 is the same as 2016. So what is it then? Just a circus sideshow to distract everyone from what exactly? That is a fair contention if that is your opinion. What is the distraction from then? You believe the debt path the US is on is sustainable?
You said.....I can break every single one of these flim flam contentions and you know it.
Please do so, at your convenience. I'm legitimately interested in the counterpoints to those statements & ideas. Like I said, I'm not arguing in favor of or against. But educated opposing viewpoints are few and far between so I'd appreciate the counters for educational value.

It isnt like I do not understand their concerns because I do but aside from playing partisan poker I just look at the Ukraine situation based on what we know and what makes sense. Russia is not interested in spending the time, money and loss of life to engage with Ukraine I just do not see that as a reasonable contention from the pro-Ukraine side. I see it as Russia granted their territorial break given certain understandings and one of those, the largest being that Ukraine would not take actions or steps towards risking military harm to the general Russia federation. I do not see how Russia would be cool with any whiff of military risk, the US would not if we were in a similar situation.

I dont think Trump has an economic plan, he did not previously and without ZIRP I would say his term was very top heavy and uneventful. We added to the deficit under Trump even with the most easy money FED policy in decades they still ramped up debt and gave massive handouts to wealthy corps and higher earners. My taxes again this year were brutal since the eliminated the personal exemptions the net change in the standard deduction was little and then the deductions removed in my case has impacted my tax liability every single year more than any time in my past as an adult. I do not see a strong economic plan from Trump outside of wearing a hat and claiming victory on day 1 that he is famous for.
What I do see is dramatic and immediate project 2025 initiatives and retaliatory actions against those Trump felt harmed him, that is not a leader or someone with a plan it is partisan retribution and not much else. His staff is a joke and you cant just say drain the swamp by bringing in talk show hosts and people who paid you money and accolades as a way of directing this country.
Tariffs are for your enemy they are not the foundation of an economic policy or a way to truly be protectionist and especially if those tariffs are here and there not comprehensive and not monitored or followed through with. For example this Mexico car scam, yeah I am in support of charging corps for offshoring but are we charging corps who offshore raw goods or just production? If you look at vehicles made here or Mexico or Canada, the percentage of parts and components made in the US is very little and yet this is allowed and not tariffed so is this approach really valuable and serving to American jobs and companies? I would say no, not at all.

American federation of government employees praises judge William Alsup for ordering Trump administration to reinstate thousands of probationary workers from 6 departments. Defense, agriculture, interior, energy, treasury and veteran affairs. Actions of Office of personnel management are illegal for violating "Reduction in force" law requirements. Sham for government to fire good workers based on performance when that is a lie.

Musk is hoping for a govt shutdown, so it will be easier for him to shut down agencies and fire workers.

They may not have created the launch pad, but they sure did keep adding fuel to the fire, didn't they? Hard to walk it back after the tanks been filled. So you can't really hate Musk so much when he just played the game and happened to be the one the benefited the most. Right place, right time. Is the timing with Tesla's launch just a coincidence? ZIRP was a great boom but at what point does it just turn wasteful? Money isn't free and it shouldn't be. Lots of risk out there but a little interest shouldn't crash everything if people were conservative when it came to finances. Those at risk should strap in. Money printer might not be turning on, or maybe it will. Who the hell knows. brrrrrrrr

The average American worker has gotten lazier . You know it and I know it . Covid only exacerbated the issue . Many people could be fired and it wouldn’t even really matter because their impact was negligible in the first place . It’s cost effective . But let’s be nice and let them keep their jobs . That’s my motto .
