    Republican leader Mitch McConnell:
    Attack at the Capitol
    was ‘provoked by the president’

    USA TODAY

WASHINGTON – Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., issued his
most striking condemnation of President Donald Trump after the attack at the
U.S. Capitol, saying the mob of protesters were “provoked by the president.”

“The mob was fed lies. They were provoked by the president and
other powerful people, and they tried to use fear and violence,”
McConnell said on the Senate floor, casting a clear shot not only
at Trump but fellow Republicans who backed the president’s efforts
to overturn election results in several swing states.

If it wasn't for double standards, the left would have no standards at all.

So, the mobs in Portland, and Minneapolis are not trying to use fear and violence? I do not agree with what happened at the Capital, but, the left has been doing as much for a year or more. Did any Democratic leader's speak out then? Yes, they did, our future VP said keep rioting, I will raise bail money for you, Nancy P. said, I don't know why there isn't riots in every town. Again, if it wasn't for double standards, the left would have no standards at all.

@joe pockets- It's a combination of indoctrination and lack of education.  Of course the complete answer is more complex and nuanced.  However, most Republicans think education isn't important.  They also only watch/read sources that say things to confirm any biases they possess.  So they're tuning out any article from a source that's deemed to be fake news.  This causes them to be misinformed and to believe things that aren't true.  Any normal person who had Trump as an owner or boss of a company would leave the place.  He's a giant asshole who doesn't know how to work with people and constantly belittles everyone.  Then the Republicans on this website have the balls to say I'm more offensive than Trump.  Ha!  If Trump acted the way he does as an employee at virtually any company, the stupid prick would have been fired ages ago.  This is where my explanation comes full circle.  Republicans think you're supposed to fake your way through life and use others to become successful.  This is their core belief of how to approach life.  Hard work and being honest are both things they do not care about.  They also believe in lying to advance their causes, specifically because their policies aren't good enough to win on their own.  Why else do you think a very bad person like Trump became president?  They could have picked a normal Republican who's decent but the voters wanted Trump.  He's exactly like the people who voted for him.

Same something different- The same ole same ole rhetoric shows what an ignorant person YOU are. And you don't even realize it. Here's a great analogy for you. Do you know why democrats are always leading early in the polls? Because the Repo's don't get off work til 5.

Republicans back Republicans about 90 percent of the time.

To expect them to do contrary to the obvious is insanity.

Not real illusions his defense is the same type of stump he been singing since before the election he did clearly as a fund raiser event he had no direct link to command and control and was in lockdown as events transpired.

He didn't pardon the terrorists and called them out as not true supporters on national TV...

He won't be convicted but possibly given a citation by Congress.

@Snorkel- Uh... okay?  I already know I'm right so your drivel is pointless but you do realize Democrats now control everything, right?  What's the point in mentioning a falsehood (because Republicans don't work more than Democrats) that isn't applicable to the current political situation?  Democrats beat Republicans at the polls and didn't need an early lead to do it.

Yeah. But the Dimocrats have a huge advantage because all the dead people vote at 2am in the morning.

I don't think he could pardon the rioters regardless because they were not yet convicted, just charged. I may be wrong on this though.

Yes he could of pardon those charged with specific federal charges . Not a blanket pardon but on crimes that within the justice syatem.

The man charged with campaign finance fraud was not convicted.  I like to say Steve Gannon but I am not sure at this point.
