I find it curious there are not 5 outrage threads today about the debt ceiling

I guess if you look hard enough you can find a small slice of the population in favor of pretty much anything..

But how SS positioned his reply was for sure not implying this was some fringe ultra minority (post 18)

I was only responding to your question in (post #19)...Where are people blaming current white people for slavery from over 75 plus years ago?

So I posted one...although there are more ...as this site suggest..///// whites should give them free laptops, offer to pay rent, buy groceries  free use of a car, house cleaning, massages and cold hard cash.

And to Slim. You posted a link to a joke of a story from a joke of a periodical about a joke of a person with a joke of an idea about references. The whole think was crafted by a graphic artist from Seattle who started it as a tongue-in-cheek facebook post that garnered her attention and became a website. She is not the voice of Black America anymore than Scal is, and that shouldn't be taken as a slight to Scal.
And as far as Dyson goes. He is a respected voice of black America but no where in the story you referenced, nor the book it promotes, does he blame modern white Americans for Slavery.

If you can even call it "commentary". It fits the absolute loosest definition. It's not debate. It's not analysis. This isn't the 19th century when men of substance and education sat in parlors and pondered and discussed the state of our days. It's name calling. It's mean girls in chat forums "throwing shade". (is that what the kids are saying?) It's a lot of "lefties blah, blah, blah..." "righties blah, blah, blah..." "libs do this..." "conservatives do that". No one actually debates, or even goes indept into, the issues. No one has an open mind.

Bingo STU!!  No one is openminded these days, thus, very few compromises..very few listen to opposite views which could only help the closeminded..I for one, am very open until I feel it's unreasonable....

Now Wall, why does DJT surprise you with his decision? Look what's gone down...Spicer, Rience, Mooch, and finally Bannon..ALL HISTORY...Gen Kelly trying to calm DJT's waters..teaching him how to "play politics"...brilliant move..be open to dealing with Dimms..thats how you accomplish things in the SWAMP....Watch his poll ratings go up and DJT will continue to move towards the middle...

Like in my original thread about "The Donald" started 2 years ago, I stated DJT would use GOP to get elected but had some very liberal stances...that's ok, I do too..Raising debt ceiling was a no brainer, calms EVERYONE down so some compromises could be reached...Surely,there are some serious cost cutting moves down the pipeline..just wait and see...This move was generated inside the adept brain of Gen Kelly and I think it's good...Man, those were 2 of the most DESTRUCTIVE natural disasters to ever hit..and DJT has already got funding for both..

Stu my brotha ,  Dyson is certainly a renowned intellectual with a admirable linguistic ability and I'am sure he speaks for a segment of the Black community....although Dr.Cornel West might disagree.


When EMD,, in a recent interview with the New York Times, (talking about "Tears We cannot Stop" )  said he thinks the best way for white Americans to pay for the sin of skin is to bear individual responsibility by paying their black employees or service providers double what they would pay anyone else.

Who else is he is referring to if not modern/today white Americans..paying for slavery ( sin of skin as he calls it ) as their responsibility.. a black tax, that is, payment by whites of a surcharge for work performed by black Americans.

How else can someone read it differently ?
