I believe it is also well understood that an issue of THAT importance *HAD* to be included in  the written "daily briefing".....it defies any and all logic to suggest it would not be..... So then if the president REFUSES to read that daily briefing placed on his desk in plain sight where he is GUARANTEED to have in his view at some point (or any daily briefing) -- which is HIS JOB TO READ -- then yeah, I suppose he could try and plead IGNORANCE....but it would be his deliberate negligence.

More to the point, *after* it became public, he could no longer plead "blissful ignorance".....then what did he do about it ?? Enjoyed several more phone calls with Putin and NEVER brought up the issue!

@Midnight- I recommend not trying to debate with Trump supporters for the most part.  They tend to be liars like him and will make lots of excuses up to justify whatever particular action or behavior may be in question.  These people are duplicitous and phony.  They're just supporting Trump because he's espouses their way of life, which is pretty much grabbing P while cheating and lying until they're dead.  You think I'm using hyperbole but I'm actually just stating the stark truth.  Watch how Republicans distance themselves if Trump loses and pay close attention to how they act as if they didn't vote for him or couldn't meet him halfway.  These people support everything he does 100%, no matter what.  You can't get through to them and they're never going to change.  You're honestly wasting your time because they're generally devoid of intellectual honesty.  They're never going to change and you're pursuing an exercise in futility.

It's this way of thinking that lost the democrats the last election and will more than likely lose this one as well. The good ol' "basket of deplorables" trope. It's funny. I've seen this sea change in my lifetime. The Republican party has become more about free thinking and accepting individuals for who they are. The Democratic party has become about stuffy old white people wagging their finger and telling you that you're wrong. "If you don't agree with me, it's because you're just uneducated.... confused.... a racist, a sexist, an Uncle Tom. It's the party of Nancy Pelosi. Old, judgemental women. There are things I break sharply from the Republican party on. I am heavily for evironmental protections, even at the cost of economic growth.I am heavily for financial regulations, which the party says stifles the free market when really they just prevent banks and corporations from running rough-shod over the American people. I'm a against massive corporate tax breaks. The thing is I can look at the Republican platform and say, "I'm for this... I'm against that..." but what exactly is the democratic platform? What is Biden's platform? What was Clinton's? The only people who have a platform in the party are the extremist. The Bernies. The Warrens. The AOCs. What is Joe Biden's campaign platform though? The party has no direction and no leadership but yeah, the Republicans are all just a bunch of dumb box grabbers. All politicians are con artist but the Democrats are the worst variety of grifter.

These people are duplicitous and phony.
They're just supporting Trump because he espouses their way of life,
which is pretty much grabbing P while cheating and lying until they're dead.

These people support everything he does 100%, no matter what.
You can't get through to them and they're never going to change.

Truly I wish what you stated wasn't true of MOST trump-supporters here,
but it appears to be an unfortunate FACT.

Look up "political bigotry" in Google. I call the same thing "blind partisanship"
Either term means people are stubborn. VERY stubborn, and unwilling to
accept ideas other than their own preconceptions and views.
Even the term "Conservative" in the dictionary says "averse to change"
whereas the term "Liberal" says "willing to respect or accept behavior or
    opinions different from one's own"

It's perfectly fine to disagree on various topics, respectfully.
But refusal just to accept facts, common sense, logic, and/or reality,
coupled with bigotry (political and other), excessive hyperbole and
unsubstantiated claims to truth - while common to all political strata -
seems decidedly more pervasive among trump-supporters everywhere,
    not just here.
There are a few here who are so stubborn, so entrenched in wearing their
right-wing partisan blinders, that I see no point in responding to, as you
are recommending. I mean when they won't even acknowledge facts....

I basically put myself through university umpiring baseball/fastball and
refereeing hoops. Frequently a pitch would narrowly miss the batter's nose,
or the catcher had to trap it in the dirt 5" off the plate - I would rightly yell
"BALL!" - and the pitcher's dugout would erupt in anger, shouting vulgarities,
and accusing me of "unbelievable bias" because they said that pitch was
"straight down the middle of the plate - waist high!"

Some people only see what they *WANT* to see ...

cool Now watch!...I've prepared a logical reply to a trump-supporter
in the "Shocking" thread....Let's see what happens....

I will feel the same way regardless if Trump wins the election or not.  Republicans have exposed themselves for what they really are and there's no turning back.  The general election will be a measuring stick on the state of the zeitgeist and humanity.  Trump is a complete scumbag who's cheated everyone throughout life and raped women as well.  His money bought his way out of any kind of trouble.  In fact, he was rewarded for that behavior and became president, proving that karma is a false concept and what kind of people Americans are.  I don't really care what anyone has to say about why they support Trump.  It's obvious he's a lying lowlife and I can't respect anyone who supports him.  It makes someone gullible or sleazy and that's all the information I need to know.

zeitgeist what an interesting word to us here...

    What is the zeitgeist theory?

Theory of leadership. A "zeitgeist theory of leadership" that leaders do not become leaders by fate or accident. In 2016 no truer words were ever spoken...Donald Trump did not win by fate or accident..he was chosen at that point in time,to be the one to lead America..

Passions on both sides run deep.

As usual the election will be decided by those of us who are in between Democrats and Republicans.

And right now WE are heavily leaning toward Biden - mostly becuse we want the cancer removed from the WH.

    But that could change!!!

An "October Surprise" in the final weeks *could* impact everything, like it did against Clinton.

Lots of links on that website.

For most trump-cult-followers any read longer than a minute is just way too mind boggling

He's a coward. When confronted by a strong leader, he crawls away to find the nearest corner in which to hide. He professes to love the military but only for his personal use. Veterans are waiting for medication because of the abortion he caused in the Post Office.

    He's despicable.

Yeah he has........Biden is going to fix every problem this country has. an_roll_laugh

Much of "his plan" looks like cut/paste from the Owebama reign, which never came to fruition. As you read, you start to add numbers in your head........$50 trillion or so should do it.
