Former President Donald Trump reportedly tried to hold his friendship
with former Vice President Mike Pence hostage as he tried to convince
the latter to block Congress' election certification in general, according
to an excerpt from the upcoming book Peril by journalists Bob Woodward
and Robert Costa.

When Pence told Trump that the Constitution did not allow him to do
anything about the certification process, despite claims from some of
Trump's supporters, the president first tried to tempt him with the
promise of authority.
"But wouldn't it be almost cool to have that power?," Trump reportedly asked.

Pence reportedly assured him he didn't think "any one person" should
"have that authority" and held his ground, adding that he had
"done everything I could and then some to find a way around this,"
but "it's simply not possible."

That's when Trump reportedly began shouting...
"You don't understand Mike," he said, according to Woodward and Costa.
"You can do this. I don't want to be your friend anymore if you don't do this."

Ultimately, Pence held firm

Aguirre’s claims were completely baseless—his victim was an innocent air conditioner technician—and no widespread voter fraud has been found in the 2020 election.
Aguirre was indicted this week for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

It seems the tactic is to cast doubt on any elction where the results could go either way.  Then if it goes the hoped way they say nothing.  But if goes the other way they yell "election fraud, just like we predicted!"

Virginia voters made a mistake in electing controversial Youngkin as governor.  He is already failing parents, children and schools.  7 school boards and a group of parents have filed lawsuits challenging his ban on mask mandates in schools.  Lawsuits allege state constitution gives local school boards the authority to run their districts.  Also a state law requires schools to follow federal health guidelines which recommend mask wearing.

As all of that was going on, Trump himself was actively pressuring Pence to throw the election back to the House despite there being no constitutional backing for such a move.

NYT reporter Maggie Haberman has information in her new book coming out in October regarding Trump flushing documents & clogging up WH toilets.

Is this why Trump was complaining that he had to flush the toilet 8 to 10 times?

If this is indeed true, why did she save this for a book rather than blowing the whistle on his actions?

Some Trump records taken to Mar-a-Lago are clearly marked as classified, including documents at ‘top secret’ level.

Why would he want possession of these records? 

How did he plan to use them? He never read anything while he was in office.

1) No, a president can't "verbally" declassify a document without further action.

2) No, a president can't declassify a document in his head.

3) No, a former president can't take classified documents with him outside of secure control mechanisms.

4) Indict him.

If two prominent reporters broke news that Joe Biden was flushing documents down White House toilets, Hannity would anchor special Fox News coverage that would last through 2024. Trump flushing documents down WH toilets has been mentioned twice on Fox News today, once in passing so to speak.

That's actually two more times than I would have expected along with a segment on H's emails.
