 And those are all very valid points, but that's what you get with split parties...this isn't anything new happening with the inability to pass bills...this happens all the time when it's split...hate the system not the party...you seem like a smart man...everyone knows that two parties don't always agree...and in some cases out of spite....this is where the two party system fails us as people...back in the day when information didn't travel as fast things got by, but now you can't do anything without the other person or party knowing about it...times have changed but not the way we view the political outpost...why???

The added saying says, that if it ain't broke don't fix it right....well it's broken and has been for some time...it's time to fix it...the two party system should be dismantled....it should by majority vote without two party alignment system..same thing with electing a president...the electoral votes is a joke...for example, since the 90's the Democrats are handed 54 electoral votes from one state...why?? Democrats do realize that if you removed California from handing out what has been a given 54 electoral votes for the past 30 years or so, the elections would take on a much different aspect...

The majority should always prevail....it's how we are taught when we are young and should be the only basis for voting on anything as a people...start realizing that we are stuck in old ways and it's time for a change...let the majority decide what is what not who or what State belongs to which party...that doesn't even make sense if you think about it...we are talking about electing the highest job in the land and it's decided by electoral votes...that's hilarious...

Like I said, your points are very valid, but it's not anyone one persons fault as it is as much a fault as to how we are handling our government issues/concerns...no one could argue that if and when the roles are reversed and the house and presidential elect are opposite than they are now, you would have similar results...it's been that way my entire lifetime...yes, sometimes the parties can agree but that is far and few between...however, hating one person or party seems like a very futile argument but if you step back and think about it this is how our government has been running....like I said, hate the system not the party...break up the money backers and see the change...meaning, be the change you want to be

This bill is to keep funding for the federal government so we can keep paying our military families their wages, which includes thousands currently in harm's way combating terrorism in the middle east.  Their families back home will be denied their hard earned paychecks directly because of the hard right MAGAs.

Thats the thing - when roles are reversed there are not similar results. Only the crazies in the far right GOP want to threaten government shutdowns, you don’t see the moderates from either party doing that. It’s the fringe element of the GOP.

Your beef with the electoral college is something we are unlikely to fix. Your beef is with the framers of the Constitution. You call for majority rule, then simultaneously argue Californians should be excluded? What about Texas, should they be removed too for their gerrymandered districts?

A successful bar owner taught me years ago to KISS - keep it simple stupid. Show up, have affordable booze, clean the place, friendly bartenders, and good music. Don’t overthink it beyond those parameters.

Well I don’t need to reinvent the entire electoral process for the 2024 election, I just need to vote for the lesser evil. The chaotic dotard promises more chaos, and as I explained in my prior post I don’t want that. I want a government that can pass a budget and float some policy ideas, like McCain and Romney used to do.

I hear your beef with the two party system, and I have good news for you - the Republican Party is currently splitting into two parties. Sure, they are huddled behind Team Red Flag this year for financial reasons, but in reality the zealots like Gaetz and Trump are being soundly rejected by the Chris Christies, Romneys, McCains, and even Cheneys.

Go back 20 years and ask yourself what kind of zealot it would take to call the Cheneys liberal? Well, the answer is on the front page of most newspapers - it’s Zealot Trump.

That is who Ellis was referring to when she coined the phrase in the headline, “the moron caucus.” It’s not all Republicans or even all MAGAs, but it is most certainly those who have dedicated themselves to the Big Lie and the shameless bootlicking that followed.

A true majority is not what our founders created with our constitution.  "Democracy" is true majority.  We do not have a sole democracy.  We have a Constitutional Republic.  

The system is the money backers and money backers are the system.  System won't change until it breaks, we aren't there yet.  Money rules....cash flows everything around me....dollar dollar bills yall.

I never said to exclude California...I said that there is no reason to give away 54 electoral votes from the State, thus proving my argument that the majority should always prevail...what does electoral votes prove...absolutely nothing...it's just another numbers game to keep the election process close and to hold certain states as more valuable than others as if it to keep it suspenseful...if you removed California from giving away 10% of the electoral votes what are you left with...throw Texas in that mix as well at over 7% of the entire electoral votes and you have 2 States that make up nearly 1/5 of the process....what a joke that is...and quite frankly living in California, I question its process of voting as well and have you ever noticed that well before the voting has even finished in California that most already count California as a winner to the Democrats and give them the 54 electoral votes...I always found that fascinating, as if they already know the results....But i never said to exclude California...create all States equal and all people equal and let majority prevail...then nobody should complain about the process as long as the voting was accurately counted...right now, with the system in place, it will only create the bellyaching...wait and see how time unfolds this going forward with future elections...why anyone would be opposed, if any, to majority wins would be beside me, but there must be some reason as to why this hasn't happened, right? I'm sure it has nothing to do with

To your point, there was some bellyaching about that this week from the fringe elements of the GOP accusing Speaker Johnson of “stabbing them in the back.” I’m so tired of the fringe lunatics saying government needs to be run like a business, then refusing to pass a budget. Because businesses don’t have budgets? lol, these guys are such clowns

 Nah, I live in California and know a few folks who worked in the county election offices. Those are good, simple people who have no agenda.

If you want to get rid of the Electoral College that’s fine, but that’s like wishing for unicorns to make it rain golden showers of money and whiskey. I try not to worry about things I cannot control, and that’s one of them.

Getting rid of the electoral college would mean no Trump in 2017, which is fine by me because his elimination/capping of the SALT deduction to punish blue states raised my taxes by $15k in 2017, and $20+k later. 

Thanks for the tax hike! If Republicans are hiking my taxes to subsidize cuts in red states, and still spending like crazy to hike up the debt and increase inflation, there’s zero reason for me to vote for a “conservative” like Trump. (He’s obviously not a fiscal conservative.)

Their numbers are dwindling indeed. Bobert may have trouble even standing a chance in her new district with her polling at 10% this week, although she prob doesn’t really care anyways - she knows she has a job lined up at $787 million News or LiesMax or the other GOP mainstream media.
