According to Daily beast, some national security experts have downplayed the importance of this balloon because Chinese satellites constantly collect detailed data about the US.  Republicans manufacture a controversy about Chinese balloon to score political points.  They promote a dereliction of duty when Biden simply follows military advice to wait until balloon is over water.  This improves safety against harmful debris  and helps recover equipment for examination.  Also hypocritical to blame Biden while ignoring Chinese balloons in the US during Trump presidency.

In his defense, Trump didn’t know about all the Chinese balloons during his presidency because:

a) he thought they were just delivery balloons delivering his ties and Ivana’s clothing line (both made in China)

b) he thought they were more cash payments from Daewoo

c) he thinks airspace is in reference to the space between his ears

d) he doesn’t know his arse from a hole in the ground

e) all of the above

MSNBC reports that pentagon has confirmed in writing of Chinese balloons in the US during Trump presidency.  Odd that Trump security officials are ignorant because congress has been briefed before by defense department.  Republican Mike Waltz of House armed services committee admits to being briefed on balloons at Florida, Texas and Guam.  Under Trump administration, military has failed to detect and shoot down a Chinese balloon.  Now under Biden, military has succeeded and US intelligence offers to brief Trump security officials on past balloons.
