Was just wondering what some of the consequences could be? Maybe some of the smarter posters like DJ ,DL, BWS and Club Dirt could shed some light on this.

But not everyone believes in freedom of speech and freedom of religion and there have always been those who's life purpose has been to destory it and fuse church and state into one entity.
Seems wrong for some government to be doing this. They are truly the enemy from with in trying destroy America.
I'm not sure why some people are so hellbent on destroying America and the American way.

Thanks, this gave me a good idea of the story and her moronic apology letter. Really shows the lack of remorse and the paradigm that she is the victim rather than being able to take personal responsibility and accountability for her actions.
You mentioned me earlier and honestly if this were her own person Facebook page that is one thing. But the fact that she uses this professionally and calls herself by her professional title is the problem. You would think someone in government would be smarter than this in that it is not a place for her political, emotional and bigoted opinions.
Like would she encourage a subordinate to do the same thing? I guess you never know with someone like this and it would depend if they were in agreement with her

click baiting is a term used to describe a type of headlines that compel your visitors to click that entices a visitor to click to continue reading an article..
e.g .JUST SAW AN INTERESTING.....................
Interesting what ? What's so interesting ? I guess I'll have to click on the Thread to find out ............click baiting..
You draw audience interest–you actually get clicks/views with nothing more
than just a creative way of spinning what could be a mundane topic......

i would say it's not illegal because you generally need a specific threat directed at a specific person or group of people for something like that to be illegal.
what can they do about it? there probably is some way to have an elected official removed if the conduct is bad enough but that might involve a petition and a new election or the governor stepping in. most likely neither will happen.
realistically, all you can do is expose this person for being a friggin moron and hope the idiots in the county that elected her vote her out.
also, for people who thought "religious freedom" was just about hating the gays, rest assured that it can also be about discriminating against muslims.

Some irrelevant dimwit has an issue with Islam, and this is somehow news???
I do not agree with her opinion regarding Islam, but she is entitled to it.
Too many people act as if they champion the right of free speech, until they don't agree with what the free speecher says.
The media has done a fine job of shaping how people think, and what they think is important.

i think HJS and i are essentially saying the same thing. she does havea right to free speech, although i'm not sure she has a right to free speech using a county facebook account which means the government probably could take action by taking whatever steps they have to remove people in her position assuming there is some county rule or policy that she violated. had she done it using a purely private account, i think it would be a free speech issue.

Yes this is the issue. It is not about her views against freedom of religion and her being against the first Ammendment and consistution. She can be as unamerican and against the American way as she wants.
The issue is using her Facebook page with her official government title and that has history of being used in a professional capacity.
This is not about her views but rather the inappropriate use of technology in a government role. You would think Hillary email tantrum throwers would grasp this concept of inappropriate use in the role of s government official

As one of the smarter posters I gave my opinion as did others. Please drop these antics and games trying to derail the convo and make unecesary jabs at the OP. I get it that you have been allowed to play these games to detract from threads and the forum and that the site a people in charge want it to be like this and for you to continue these antics and games but perhaps you will see that what you are doing is not making a positive contribution to the community and change your ways.
But since those in charge want these types and games and antics from you as what they desire my guess is you will make more posts about the poster and not the topic and continue your ways, unable to change.

Hugh, here is what the problem is. As a county commissioner she took an oath of office which includes upholding the constitution. She had two pages on fb 1 was personal the other was her official page as county commissioner. She chose to post her anti Islam rhetoric on her official page. So with her post she violated her oath. She can be impeached or the governor could just remove her. If it would have been posted on her personal page she would have been ok.
