I am not a big fan of all of his nominees or purported nominees. but hey at least there are no dudes in high heels with lipstick or the pathological liar/unable to directly answer a question like the current Press Secretary. Two of the worst hires ever. DEIA at its finest. I am sure there will be a fair number of flops that get replaced by Trump like any President, but we appear at least for the most part trending in the right direction and that is all you can ask for out of the gates.

It was about a bunch of 60-something year old, post menopausal women and happy men crusading for a woman's right to choose. Don't get me wrong, i'm not some huge pro-lifer but as I said here months ago, the democrats seemed to put all their eggs in that basket,no pun intended. And I, based on my own anecdotal onservation, I just didn't think the issue resonated with women 18-35. It certainly didn't register with suburban house wifes, most of which are mothers. That's how I know it's all a farce. There were actual positives to come from the Biden administration. Successes. You wouldn't have known it based on that campaign though. It's like they were trying to lose. Harris could've said, "We have made strides. The economy is humming along. Unemployment is low. We know we have failed you all at the southern border. I plan to make tne border a focus of this next 4 years.
The democrats are so afraid of chasing away their Hispanic/Latino voters that all they ended up doing is chasing away their Hispanic/Latino voters. And if you know Latins, they're traditionally conservative anyway. They're almost all catholic, very patriarchal, very homophobic, for lack of a better term. More so, they believe in traditional family structures and values. And the machismo thing is real. A latin man was never going to vote for Harris anyway. Might as well come out strong on the border. Maybe you lose a few Latina but you make gains in literally every other demographic.
Trump wants to hire crackpots to run government agencies. Main criterion is blind loyalty. Qualities such as competence or experience have no bearing whatsoever. In first term, adults prevented Trump from implementing his worst policies. No other president has such a high turnover rate in cabinet. DeSantis said that Trump achieved nothing of legislative significance. Survey of historians rank him as the worst president in executive appointments.
Influence of big money in politics is one of the reasons why US has a failing democracy. Problem is the best fundraisers elected instead of the best policies. What's best for billionaires may not be best for most Americans. In more democratic countries, parties are funded by tax payers with limits for donations from private sector.

The people elected the President based on policies. The advice and consent of the Senate should not block those policies. The current cabinet is the most unqualified cabinet in our history. They were appointed by Biden. Although unqualified, they were confirmed. Trump’s appointments are qualified, rather than meeting some identity characteristic.

Hmmm, I seem to remember Jeff Sessions who thought he would be fired every week, Scott Pruitt who's ethics weren't his strong point, Rick Perry who wanted to abolish a department but couldn't remember which one, Betsy Devos who never visited a public school while Secretary of Education & let's not forget my favorite Ryan Zinke & many more.
Not all cabinets are great but the one this POS is putting together is dangerous because they lack expertise in fields they will lead. C'mon Linda McMahon for Secretary of Education. Shit even DeVos knew a little about school systems. Dr. Oz? Get Real

The way this former Congressman writes about it points out the difference between experience in the private sector and solely having political 'experience' and the hurdle that might be. Part of it:
"If you are a mechanic, you must work on engines and know what you're doing when you apply for a new job. The same is true for electricians, plumbers, and people in the business world. Experience is a valuable thing to have on your resume.
President Trump is receiving a lot of negative press regarding some of his nominees for cabinet positions. The other evening, 60 Minutes did a short hit piece listing Marco Rubio, RFK Jr., and several others as unfit for Cabinet members because they had no experience.
This begs the question: Experience in what? The general assumption is that these individuals have no experience in the proposed areas of responsibility. In the private sector, that makes a great deal of sense. But what about the government?
Is not “government only experience” the big issue with the deep state that President Trump is trying to erase? As a businessman and not a politician when he was elected president, Mr. Trump was something the federal government was not accustomed to. A person who demanded efficiency and expertise from their employees. His approach shook up the deep state, and they immediately went to work trying to destroy him as an individual to keep him from serving as the president.
They did not know what to do. Here was a person who expected hard work, honesty, and loyalty to the American system of government. He demanded results but was rewarded with disloyalty and distaste for what he was asking. The bureaucrats hid behind the protection they had built for themselves over the years, thumbed their noses at Trump, and just did things their way.
Mr. Biden is an excellent example of the deep-state experience. Experience having nothing to do with balancing a checkbook, demanding efficiency from its employees, or facing being fired for incompetent work. This comment, in no way, infers he is a bad person. It only points out that his entire career since entering the workforce has been in government. Like many other long-time politicians in Congress, understanding how the private sector works is beyond their realm of experience, competence, and understanding.
Over the years, as the federal government has become increasingly bloated, the employees have built a shield of rules and regulations that protect them.
This is the buzzsaw of experience that President Trump encountered during his first term. Now, he knows better. Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will encounter this same wall of government experience when they attempt to make cuts and streamline agencies. It is going to be a high mountain to climb.
A little free advice for Elon and Vivek from someone with 12 years of experience serving as a US Congressman: do not go after the people. You will get nowhere. The Achilles heel is money. An agency can only function with money taken from working people's incomes. Befriend influential people on the Appropriations Committee and go after the money in the agencies you desire to cut back. Otherwise, you will be unsuccessful in your attempt to downsize the government.
This will be a battle of private sector experience against deep state political experience.
