I understand why cd and a number of other people have their concerns about what is going on.
What I can't understand, is where the wide-spread education campaign is from Obama and the Democrats, informing people exactly what is wrong with the US health care system, what can be done to reform these problems properly, and what possible options or plans they have for reform?
The fact that the Dems have not put forth a suitable campaign letting people know what the problems are and what can and should be done has me suspicious for sure.
We have seen how fast indusrty can mobilize the right wing and shut down the debate process. If the Dems put half the energy into it they would probably get somewhere. But it doesn't seem like they're trying very hard at all. Maybe Obama starts to get things going soon.
But I think you guys have a right to be suspicious in a lot of ways. From what I understand any reform will still leave insurance companies running the show.
Health care will still be for profit, so I really see it as a lose/lose situation. Maybe reform, but no progress in the near future.
