1) Malpractice reform has been passed in nearly every state which caps the amounts that victims can receive in verdicts (but not settlements, which obviously would be unnecessary).
2) Fact check after fact check has shown that the increase in insurance rates for doctors has actually made doctors more cautious and thorough.

There is no definition of "unnessessary test." I have no history of cancer in my family. Does that make such tests on me unnessessary? My guess is if the tests were ordered for you or one of your family members, you would have no problem with it.

you are totally clueless. So doctors should order every test in the world checking for everything just so they dont get sued. Get real

Disco, you keep saying the same bullshit over and over again that am spreading misinformation, when the fact of the matter is i have been informed by some very smart people who have read the bill and knows what it will mean to my health insurance. Why should i not believe these people, because you said so. Go read the fuckin link i posted last night explaining how employers can just drop coverage for employees and pay a fee to the govt. I guess the ap newswire is lying also.
I know i should believe, obama, pelosi and reid what they say
You are a typical extreme liberal quack

Wow, you have become an angry zealot. I feel bad for you.
Why don't you tell me what you believe is an unnecessary test? In what situation? I may agree with you. But if you are suggesting that any test for cancer or other terminal illnesses is not necessary, we can agree to disagree.

If the doctor is ordering tests in the practice of medicine for the better treatment and analysis of his patients condition then I would agree it is a necessary test.
If the doctor is ordering tests to reduce his liability from a lawsuit, that is an unnecessary test.

Can you prove this? This is one of the things I can't believe from you.
This is one thing I just don't believe, and one of the original reasons I asked you to cite your info.
Instead of doing so, you just told me some 'experts' at work told you, so it must be true.
I'm not running from anything, I'm confronting your 'truth' (as you see it obviously)
I don't believe that shit for one second. Of course (IF) it were true, I would agree, you may have something to be concerned about.
So let's go back to page 1 of the other thread:
Where in the bill does it say that congress will not be forced into the public option?
What section? What page? Anything..I'll go check for myself

How about we run mammograms starting at age 20, might safe a few women....
Prostate exams at age 30?? could catch a few early
How about MRI's for anyone coming in with a headache? Hate to miss someone who might have a tumor.
Maybe run bloodwork on all patients each day in case they have some family gene issue or ate too much mercury tainted fish since last visit. Can't hurt, might prevent lawsuit later that they missed it...
then how about we run the tests again with different testing agencies in case the first one is found to be deficient....

Again, please describe what you deem to be an unnecessary test.

DJ, you really cant be serious? Doctors should do mri's everytime somebody complains of a headache? Maybe in a perfect world where nothing cost money, then you could do them.

Did I say that? My question was what is necessary and unnecessary? Where do you draw the line?
Make sure you think in terms of yourself and your loved ones. We all think certain things are not necessary unless they involve someone close to us.
