Scal, i said that you were s hyoocrite because you sing your "you don't know me" song and then turn around and make absolute statements about people's lives, backgrounds and personalities that you've never met and know nothing about.

For what I said to BB to be hypocritical, I would have to make the statement that he knows nothing about me, then turn around and make statements about him personally that I would have no way of knowing. And I would never do that with any seriousness. Only crazy people (Scal) do things like that.

Maybe that's why you post chopped up, partial quotes trying to eek out a point where there isn't one.

As far as lovesthedough goes, i've debated him plenty as well but how much does it really serve Black people to argue with one guy on covers.com. The one point I would make to him would be that it's unfair to call the counter protest group a Black Supremicist group when i'm sure atleast half, if not most, of the protesters were non-Black.
Other than that, even though he's always struck me as the type to attend one of these rallies, the things he is saying about right to assemble are correct. Does saying that make me a traitor to my race or just someone who acknowledges facts?

White supremacists with weapons planned a rally to protest removal of Robert Lee's statue - an offensive symbol of racism and slavery.  Charlottesville mayor condemns the rally as a cowardly parade of hatred, bigotry  and intolerance.

 A white supremacist deliberately drove his car into a crowd of people peacefully protesting against the rally.  He is now held on suspicion of second degree murder.  Police shuts down the rally due to violence.  Peaceful protests are legal but violence is unacceptable.

LRM you have a president who is exposed regularly as a liar - only one recent example the Boy Scout speech where he claimed the phone call

He makes claims on twitter such as the one about the nuclear Arsenal which are debunked with laughable ease

He has admitted to groping women and refused to apologise

He still had not divested his conflicting business interests

And he refused to condemn the far right violence, covering it with a catch all statement

He refuses all evidence of climate changes and blames it on a Chinese hoax

All the above are statements of fact. These and many others I have used to form my opinion of him as a person

You no doubt have your own views. But to attempt to defend him by either telling me to shut up, picking on isolated words in my argument to deflect the discussion, blaming the press or saying his predecessor in your view did bad things too is NOT a valid or strong defence

If you have an argument for his character or fitness for office involving facts and not the above tactics and/or a repudiation of my claim about the importance of the president as a moral compass of the nation I would genuinely love to hear it

Arlington National Cemetary sits on property connected to Robert E. Lee, and is where the Robert E. Lee Memorial still exist. Should we start desecrating it? George Washington is a symbol of slavery. Should we take down the Washington monument? I mean, he was more of a slave owner than Robert E. Lee ever was. These are facts. How far will this crusade to cover up our history go? The Civil War happened. Taking down a statue does not negate this nor does it better race relations. I'm African-American and while i've never been to Charlottesville, i've been to the Robert E. Lee memorial in Arlington National cemetary. And i've been to Robert E. Lee's birthplace. Why? It's historic. We fight the wrong battles in this country. Why take down a statue of Robert E. Lee now? Is it hurting people's feelings? And if a group wants to protest this, why protest the protest? They're taking the statue down regardless. Essentially you've already won. A lot of time, and energy....AND LIVES wasted to accomplish nothing. What's next? Are we going to start referring to the Duke Boys' Dodge Charger as simply "the Car"? Maybe paint a big "Rainbow Flag" on the roof? I'll tell you one thing, if we're going to start erasing symbols of Slavery from the face of this Country then we're going to be busy. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson...let's just start from the top. Or better yet, let's start working towards a better future rather than trying to erase our past.

I am racist. You are a racist. We are all racists now. The term racist has been used recently with such frequency and such abandon that it effectively has almost become a meaningless term. This is not good because there are people that are racists and they should be called out when it is appropriate. Unfortunately, too many people that use the term are just angry and do not really understand the definition of the word. It is an important, powerful word and it should not be used lightly or out of misplaced or misdirected anger. If you are going to call someone a racist, make sure that you know what the word means.

The torches were not "mock", they were "actual" torches, a real, physical, tangible object. Man your thread titles are a mess, fake quotes, poor grammar and a heavy dose of hyperbole.

No matter how you slice it, President Trump won the election, he is the President of the United States of America, and it is not the duty of Congress and the press to take him down.

The democrats lost because they were dishonest, manipulative, hacked and leaked their own records because they cheated Sanders in the primary. They need to admit they were wrong, they misbehaved, and that their duty now is not to prove their lying narrative, but to serve their constituents, the American people.

Thank you President Trump, for weathering this storm of withering liberal attack from foes foreign and domestic. Hopefully we can put their lies about Russia behind us, and avoid the senseless confrontation they want with Russia, so we might improve our relations with them.

1) I said you "seem" conflicted. Very different than saying you are. Don't know you well enough to claim that you actually are conflicted.

2) I said you seem conflicted based on the observation that you spend as much if not more time bashing a guy who supports people who have been historically oppressed in this country than arguing down those who support such views. You claim you don't feel like wasting your time with people whose minds you can't change, etc. But that still does not explain why you would resort to going after/bashing a white man who is against racism and spend so much time doing it. To me, that seems strange. It might be time for some therapy.

3) I completely reject your distinction between the "real world" and cyberspace. The two are so intertwined these days nobody can say where one stops and the other begins. People can have more impact on the "real world" (and their own life, especially if they get fired for it:) with a tweet than anything they say or do outside of cyberspace. And covers is the prime example of that. Look at how people use the info shared here to make financial decisions (sometimes even life changing ones, for better or worse) in the "real world." 
4) Regarding the monuments or what not. Personally, I don't think history should be erased, but it should be contextualized to some extent so that people don't view it as a celebration of racist beliefs or ideologies. And I would feel the same way about anything valorizing or celebrating the founding fathers. But those people were not just there to save a part of their history (in all its ugliness), they were there to celebrate it (in all its ugliness). That is a big difference, and you should be smart enough to see that. But the reason you don't, once again, is more proof that your conflicted. Now should they be allowed to celebrate it? Of course they should. But people should also have the right to condemn them for doing so without being killed. Hopefully, we can agree on that much.

In a nutshell, he argues me down for one reason:

He doesn't like non-blacks, particularly Caucasians, commenting on his race in any capacity.

He treats commentary on his race (even pro-black commentary), with the exclusivity a country club would treat its non-black applicants. And he is the quote/unquote "guardian" at the doorstep checking your credentials. 

Now if I were Michael Eric Dyson and said the EXACT same things, he would be throwing rose petals at my feet (MED is one of the premier public intellectuals on the topic of race, among other things, because I know many here have no idea who that is).

I can't believe after 11 years on the site, I'm arguing with a black male with the right to point out racism in its overt/institutional/systematic forms and offer my support of the black race, which I've done consistently here from Day 1!

BB, I think you need to reread your own posts and be more cognizant of the words you choose. Regardless of that, as it pertains to Scal, I argue with him because I just don't like him. He's an @sshole. He's inflammatory. He often makes arguments that do more to harm black people's image than to help it. And he does so from this position he's attained on this site, based on a notion, that he speaks for black people. And he actually believes that he understands what it means to be Black in America because he's read books. And he's disrespected me personally more than any of the so called bigots on this site. And frankly, there are people on this website that i've disrespected personally, saying nasty things, who i've been able to say to, "You know what? That was wrong. I apologize." And we've been able to bury hatchets. It's not in my nature to let internet arguments drag on. Scal, on the other hand, lives for these arguments. And he works hard to stoke these fires. And he's incapable of admitting he's wrong because he truly believes he never is. So pardon me if I don't buy into this whole "How come you and Scal don't get along? You should be fighting the good fight together.... as brothers" Bullsh!t.
And lastly, i'll leave you with this thought. I've had people who some would call "racist... bigots... rednecks..." have my back when sh!t was going down. I've had black men call me brother and then turn around and try to set me up. Sometimes you have to judge people by their personal relationship with you and not by the scope of their belief system as a whole.

And to address whst Scal said, i'm not of the belief that there aren't seats at the civil rights table for caucasians. That would be completely asinine. We wouldn't be where we are today, and we won't be where need to be tomorrow, without the support of all races. I appreciate his spirit, and his passion, but his personality is sh!t. And he often makes weak, and easily disproven, arguments on this site. And you have this sh!t personality that rubs people the wrong way, there will be no shortest of people lining up to discredit you. And they do so with facts. And if the arguments they discredit are about race, specifically the black race, then you're not really helping things.
With that said, there is a lot of racist sh!t said on this site. And there used to be tons more. And if Scal's been debating this sh!t for "11 years" then clearly he doesn't need my blessing. Likewise, I have the right to disagree with him and refute some of the things he says.

However, it's just peachy for ANTIFA, OFA, La Raza, Le MECha, and the Communist Party to thug their way through American streets, carrying communist flags, yelling and screaming about their loss to Trump, but no media source, except maybe InfoWars ever forced Hillary Clinton or Obama to "own it !"

The "divide and conquer" in America is expanding like never before and Civil War is about 1 minute to midnight.

For all you Whites out here....get used to the name calling and the Left's attempt to associate ALL WHITES as Trump supporters, no matter who you actually voted for, let alone the fact that Blacks and Hispanics voted for Trump.....but we are the target by the George Soros, Clinton and Obama thugs to make it easier for THEM to take down this president.

The very sad part about all this demonization against the supporters of Trump, by associating only Whites with his victory and the "stealing" of the election from Hillary, is the psychological warfare element that will cause Black, White and Hispanic Trump supporters to choose a side based-on race.

We cannot ever ignore the clear and present danger before us and when push comes to shove, the war will begin.

He spoke to things i've been saying myself so I can't sit back and denigrate the guy. And Alex is more of an anti-establishment, libertarian-esque, member of the alt-right. He's not a racist, to my knowledge. In fact, in that video he shows he on record as speaking out against racism. People on the far left and the far right, and the alt right, need to realize that they are being manipulated by the same forces. The same powers that be. And I don't want to get off into conspiracy theory but let's just say there are signs all around us. I don't formulate my opinions based on what I read, I base them on observing the world around me. If those opinions fall in line with someone like Alex Jones, then there's something to it.
