You can't have an honest conversation with the media and liberals.  Again today, the president denounced white supremacists,  but acknowledged the left has bad people too.

Once again the media is fanning the flames of racism.  They are so over dramatic.   When you play identity politics with an overwhelming majority of white people in our country... It's a dangerous game.

Trump speaks the truth.!!!

Liberals and the alt-left showed up looking for violence. It's OK for the media to admit it. That doesn't mean you agree with the neo nazis's message or views.

Dough, it's the same with the media geared towards with the alt-right. All media is full of sh!t. They have a vested interest in us hating each other. The same reason they get the left all riled up is the same reason the don't report things from the point of view of the right. It makes everyone hate everyone.

Nobody is approving of white supremacists.  But it was completely obvious that the violence was on both sides.

I just believe you're very passionate in your stance against oppression. And that's fine. You often annoy the h3ll out of me. You sometimes make arguments in the name of black people that are just plain wrong, and easily disproven. And as I often say, I get fed up with your "Mr. Drummond" act. I don't, contrary to popular belief, hate you. And the thing I actually dislike about you is your megalomania but all and all, you seam like a good person. You can't speak for all black people, and you'll never understand being black, but it's your right to fight racism and prejudice however you see fit. Don't get me wrong, having a 10 year argument on covers.com doesn't make you Nat Turner. If anything it makes you crazy but to each their own. Me being so critical of you has led you to believe i'm of the thinking that white people can't speak up for black people. And that's just not true. Black people wouldn't be where we are today, and we won't get to where we need to be tomorrow, without the contributions of all races. The world needs white people like you. Again, I argue in satire now (i.e., "Hey Black America, What do you have to lose!"). Those threads are more about mocking Trump than trying to balance the racial scales, per se. 

So the fact you see them as easily disproven is irrelevant. Because I'm not trying to make an argument for blacks in them. I'm far more showing what a POS 90% of this forum voted in office.

The world needs white people like you.

Yes it was. Trump was not incorrect in his statement when viewed in isolation.

But here's the thing. His comments cannot be viewed in isolation but must be in the context of this entire situation and everything else he has said on this subject.

He focussed unduly on the violent response which, although serious, is NOT as serious long term as a group march happening in middle America.

 It was also clear that his level of anger was greater at this 'lesser' issue than it was at the group issue, about which he read a passionless scripted statement 

Now, Antifa did themselves no end of damage with their violence because they lowered themselves to allow reasonable comparisons to be drawn between the two sides and to deflect from the main issue. Not the only issue but the main issue

You LRM and others on here state views which are right wing but which I imagine you would deem peaceful. Fair enough

Those marching were unquestionably affiliating themselves with the group and Nazis. They bore Swastikas. That is an affiliation with violence and murder

Anyone who defends them or deflects to the secondary issue is defending their beliefs

Doubling down on stupidity is always a good strategy.  It's like Trump got a 12 and decided to double it against a 10.  I say that because why even bother delivering his statement the other day specifically naming the organizations and then go off on a tangent yesterday?  It just makes him look more insincere but it doesn't matter.  Most Americans don't support overt racism these days so these white nationalists aren't going to take America back over and oppress others.  Someone should tell them most person are educated and have money so they're going nowhere.
