How is the GOP "trying to suppress votes?"
Steering the process from mail in voting doesn't deny citizens their basic voting rights. It merely works to legitimize the voting process by keeping it "in person" to the vast majority of people. Absentee voting is still available.
Yet, another failed talking point from the left.

Voter supression is via limits on early or absentee voting, less funding to prepare for election in a pandemic, closing of voting locations, purging of voter lists, identification requirements, intimidation of voters and misinformation to disenfranchise eligible voters from their right to vote. Mail-in voting is part of absentee voting. 5 states conduct elections almost entirely by mail and 29 states permit absentee voting without any excuse.
Courts have ruled that voter suppression is a far bigger problem than almost non-existent fraud. Heritage foundation found 0.00006% of all mail-in ballots are fraudulent. According to Rutgers university, mail-in voting isn't a problem. Apparently, Trump is trying to delegitimize democratic process to challenge election results if he loses.

And red states WILL be closing more polling locations too....but MOSTLY in minorities districts where it is believed they will break for Dem tickets. And in those few locations they will allow minorities to vote in person, I have no doubt they will umm, er, "accidentally" have too few poll-workers there -- thus making the lines unbelievably long....which they hope will cause many too give up and go home.
I do not expect more than 115 million votes cast this election. That helps trump, so I guess it's OK...

Wouldn't be surprised to see another Friday night IG firing.
Republican election commissioners in Indiana say the pandemic is no reason to allow people to vote by mail; most Indiana residents will be forced to vote in person.

Missoula, MT in the western part of the state, the PO is removing 18 mail drop boxes across the city near popular places like the college, Target locations, outside of the YMCA, the largest office building downtown and popular grocery stores.
The Montana Postal Union has provided this data to the local newspaper.
The U.S. Postal Service is planning to remove about 15% of letter sorting machines it uses around the country, meaning 502 will be taken out of service.
